00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. fully endorsed what could well be a handbook on transformative governance and transparent leadership,
00:09especially on proper utilization of public funds.
00:12Our Alan Francisco has more on the President's full commitment and support for his latest prescription on good governments,
00:19dubbed the Public Financial Management Reforms Roadmap.
00:24With this roadmap, we give a clear mandate of ensuring that the money entrusted to us by the people serves a purpose that truly matters.
00:35That is President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.'s reiteration of his administration's commitment to transparent and transformative leadership.
00:44This, he said, as he led the ceremonial endorsement of the Public Financial Management Reforms Roadmap 2024-2028 earlier in Malacanang.
00:53The President stated that the ceremony is more than just an endorsement of policy, but a push by the government for transformation.
01:01This includes ensuring proper use and transparency of public funds, which will help enhance government services,
01:08such as disaster relief and response actions, public health care, social services, and more.
01:14In this new PFM, we are committed to synchronized planning and budgeting at our local, regional, and national levels,
01:22as well as streamlining our institutional frameworks to reduce the time spent on bureaucratic processes.
01:29Last year, President Marcos signed Executive Order No. 29, which strengthens public financial management information systems and streamlines processes.
01:39This also includes embracing technological innovation and digitalization.
01:44Because true progress is about moving beyond what we have always done and questioning how much we can be,
01:50true progress is about how we find ways to flourish in this ever-changing world.
01:56The Public Financial Management Reforms is composed of the Budget Department, along with the Commission on Audit, the Treasury, NEDA, and others.
02:05Meanwhile, in a separate event earlier, President Marcos warmly received the courtesy call of Marubeni Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Masumi Kakinoki at Malacanang.
02:17This Japanese firm has been a longtime investor in the Philippines.
02:21During the courtesy call, the company expressed continued support for the country.
02:26Alan Francisco, from the National TV Network, for a new and better Philippines.
