00:00We conducted an investigation on Italian patients affected by SLA and it emerged that 3 out of 4 of these patients live with dysphagia.
00:16Dysphagia is the difficulty in swallowing.
00:20The other element that emerged is that dysphagia involves a series of obstacles. In fact, for 66% of the interviewees, it makes it difficult to eat meals, it affects the desire to eat in company.
00:33In addition, 53% of patients with dysphagia have underlined that the difficulty of swallowing makes them lose their appetite, as well as making them feel tired and low on energy.
00:45And finally, 69% of these patients report that this condition affects their emotional state, thus generating pessimism and distrust.
00:56These data, which emerged from the investigation we did, allowed us to put on the black and white what are the real difficulties that patients with SLA and dysphagia face.
01:09Thanks to the collaboration of Zambonitalia with Aisla, SLAfood and the NEMO clinical centers, which have always been on the side of the Italian SLA community, the selection of recipes, flavors, links and autonomy was born.
01:25Its goal is precisely to help people with SLA not to give up the pleasure of the flavors of the table, to benefit from conviviality and above all to feel autonomous in everyday life.
