A 41-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder and drug-related offences over the sudden deaths of two people in Brisbane’s north. The bodies of a 61-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were found yesterday at a property at Mitchelton. The accused man is due to appear at Brisbane magistrates court late today. He is alleged to have supplied the pair with a combination of drugs, including cocaine and amphetamines. Police further allege he failed to contact emergency services when they had an adverse reaction to the drugs.

00:00We're confident that he was at the residence for a period of time.
00:06When he exactly arrived, we're unable to pinpoint that at this time, but he was there for a
00:11period of time and we believe he was there when the drugs were used.
00:14I wouldn't say dealer, but he certainly, the investigations that we've conducted and what
00:20we've put before the court indicate that he bought the drugs to the premises and supplied
00:25those drugs to the persons there.
00:26Has he appeared in court already this morning?
00:29I'm unsure whether, he's due to appear in court, I don't know whether he's actually
00:32appeared yet.
00:33I don't know the exact way the whole situation transpired.
00:38He certainly indicated that he used drugs on that evening, they used drugs, whether
00:41they all used the same drugs or not, but again, you know, ongoing, it's an ongoing investigation.
00:48There will be analysis as part of the post-mortem and obviously in relation to the drugs located
00:52at the scene and blood samples and that type of thing, but we don't have the results of
00:57that at the moment.
00:58But he certainly indicated that he did use drugs that evening, yes.
