00:05APPLAUSE
00:31Hello, everybody. Welcome back to Countdown.
00:34We missed you, whatever you were doing yesterday.
00:36Thanks for finding your way back to us.
00:38We never take it for granted.
00:3915 rounds of words, numbers and that crucial conundrum
00:43at the end to enjoy.
00:45Rachel Riley.
00:46So, Rachel, you have to help me out today. Right.
00:48I'm bleary-eyed.
00:49Last night was the home-run derby.
00:51I'll be worse tomorrow.
00:53Tonight's the All-Star Game. OK.
00:55And that's all I'm going to say, because if I mention baseball
00:58and watching baseball, it's my absolute passion,
01:0099% of people will tune out.
01:02I'm sorry, what did you say?
01:04Exactly, right.
01:05It's so boring that I don't tell people
01:07that I'm obsessed with baseball.
01:09You can clear rooms.
01:10You love your American sports in general, don't you?
01:12Yes, but baseball's the one I'll set up every night, you know.
01:15That's... I'm very sad.
01:17Have you got a thing you want to admit now,
01:19like a TV programme you watch,
01:21that you haven't told anybody you watch,
01:23until this very moment?
01:25There's definitely one.
01:27It's a gross one.
01:29Do you ever watch Dr Thimblepopper?
01:31Oh, no!
01:32And you just can't take your eyes off this stuff
01:34that comes out of people's bodies.
01:36Oh, come on.
01:37I mean, I've not missed my calling to be a dermatologist.
01:40People at home are like,
01:41talk about baseball, talk about baseball.
01:43Let's leave it at that.
01:44I've spotted two people in the corner.
01:46I need to introduce, from words to waltzes,
01:48pas de deux plays to pronouns, we've got it all covered.
01:51Susie Dent, Brennan Cole.
01:54Well, well, well, Mike Cannon, twice a champion.
01:57Now, you said you own over 80 board games.
01:59Yes.
02:00Choose one of them out that isn't as obvious.
02:03Well, I think, talking about favourite TV programmes,
02:06one of my favourite TV programmes of all time is Murder, She Wrote,
02:09and I love Angela Lansbury.
02:10I do have the Murder, She Wrote board game,
02:12which is lots of fun.
02:14Would you live in Cabot Cove, considering murder rate?
02:17Yes, because I bet the house prices are really cheap.
02:21Good thinking. You get a big garden there.
02:23Don't worry about that.
02:24Well, listen, you're taking on Billy Whitehead,
02:27and, Billy, I love this.
02:2920 years ago, you were on this show
02:31with the great Richard Whiteley in the chair.
02:33I was.
02:34You just lost. Tell me the story.
02:36Yeah, the guy beat me by seven points
02:38after he got a nine-letter word, scored 18.
02:41It was closer to then, but...
02:42Not that you're better.
02:43Do you remember the nine-letter word?
02:45Yes, it was detainers.
02:47Every day, you remember the word detainers.
02:50Imagine if it came up today.
02:52It would be something else, right?
02:54Imagine if it was the conundrum at the end.
02:56Well, we will see.
02:57Billy, redemption is on the line for you.
02:59Best of luck. Mike's a lovely guy. You're going to have a great day.
03:02I think this might be a close one.
03:04Let's find out and get on with it.
03:06Champion, first letters.
03:08Hi, Rachel. Hi, Mike.
03:09Can I start with a consonant, please?
03:11You can indeed. Start today with S.

03:41OK, at home and in the studio, let's play Countdown.
03:49MUSIC PLAYS
04:14OK, Billy, how did you get on?
04:16What a start. Mike?
04:18Just a six from me. Just a six, Mike.
04:20What have you got?
04:21Stamen.
04:22And Billy?
04:23Moniest.
04:24Moniest. He's the moniest loser we've ever had on Countdown.
04:27And he started with an eight, Brendan. That's OK, innit?
04:30Good eights. A moniest.
04:32Um, amniotes.
04:34Another fine eight, if you're into eights.
04:36Yes, a fine Countdown word.
04:38It is an animal whose embryo develops essentially in an amniotic sac.
04:42What a start. Let's get straight to our second letters.
04:45Billy, your first time.
04:46Consonant.
04:47Thank you, Billy.
04:49D.
04:50And another?

05:1730 seconds.
05:44OK, Billy?
05:46Seven.
05:47Seven for Billy. What a strong start. Mike?
05:49I'll go with a risky seven.
05:51You're going for a risky seven. OK, Mike?
05:53Unvoted.
05:55Billy?
05:56Devotes.
05:57Devotes. Devotes and unvoted.
06:00Do you give that your vote?
06:02No, unfortunately it's not, Ian. I'm sorry, Mike.
06:04Well, what a start for Billy.
06:06We've got a really good afternoon ahead.
06:08Anything better than a seven, though?
06:10There is a beautiful eight.
06:12A ventouse. A ventouse is a medical device for giving birth.
06:15Different.
06:17I've heard of forceps and suction and all sorts of stuff.
06:20It is to do with suction. It's a suction cup.
06:23It's a more sophisticated form of a sink plunger, essentially.
06:26Right! OK, we've all got an image in our head now.
06:29All right, lovely stuff.
06:31Let's get our first numbers of today.
06:33Mike, you're up against it.
06:35Can I get two big and the rest small, please?
06:39I can indeed. Not gambling at this early stage. No need.
06:42The four little ones for the first time today are ten,
06:45one, nine, five, and the big ones, 75 and 50.
06:51And the target to reach, 486.
06:54Numbers up.
07:08MUSIC PLAYS
07:26Mike, pen down what you get.
07:28No, I wasn't close enough.
07:30Wow. Billy? 486.
07:32Mike, who's really good at numbers,
07:34is going to really kick himself. Off you go, Billy.
07:3750 times ten.
07:38Once you've done that bit, I think there's going to be kicking.
07:41500.
07:42Nine plus five.
07:43Is the 14. Subtract.
07:45Yeah, well done. Well done, Billy.
07:5025 to zero, our challenger leads.
07:53Let's have a tea time teaser.
07:55Everybody needs to take a breath.
07:57So it's point dire, point dire.
07:59Everything in his life was dire at this point
08:02and it was about to get worse.
08:05APPLAUSE
08:14Welcome back.
08:15Point dire was the tea time teaser.
08:17Everything in his life was dire at this point
08:19and it was about to get worse.
08:21The answer was perdition.
08:23And at this point, it's dire for our challenger,
08:26who's going to have to take a deep breath.
08:29Everything in his life was dire at this point
08:31and it was about to get worse.
08:33The answer was perdition.
08:34And at this point, it's dire for our champion.
08:37Mike, a duck egg in the first part.
08:40Billy, 20 years later, what a start.
08:43This redemption story, and it's your letters.
08:46Consonant, please, Rachel.
08:48Thank you, Billy.
08:49L.
08:50And another.
08:52S.
08:53And another.
08:54N.
08:55And another.
08:57T.
08:58I.
08:59And another.
09:00A.
09:01And another.
09:02E.
09:04Consonant.
09:06D.
09:08And a vowel.
09:09And the last one.

09:11Kind letters. Let's see how you do.
09:28MUSIC PLAYS
09:44OK, Billy?
09:45Going to try an eight.
09:46Going to try an eight. Mike?
09:48Seven.
09:49Your seven is?
09:50Sainted.
09:51Sainted.
09:52You're going to try an eight, Billy.
09:54Lantise.
09:55Lantise.
09:56Lantise, yes, not controversial at all, Billy.
09:59They are pieces of masonry that support a wall.
10:01Very good.
10:02Beautiful.
10:05Wow.
10:06Unbelievable saves.
10:08Ah, let's go to Dictionary Corner.
10:10I mean, what an eight that was.
10:12I said there were kind letters.
10:14Was there any smell, any sniff of a nine?
10:17There was a sniff of a nine.
10:19Denialist.
10:20Denialist.
10:21APPLAUSE
10:23Right, 33-0.
10:25Mike, it's your letter, so you're in control of that,
10:28and that means something.
10:29Start with a consonant, please.
10:31Thank you, Mike.
10:32M.
10:33And another.
10:35W.
10:36And another.
10:38L.

10:53And one last consonant, please.
10:55And a final H.
10:57Here we go.
10:58MUSIC PLAYS
11:20MUSIC STOPS
11:30I don't think there'll be any nines here.
11:32Mike?
11:33Just a six.
11:34A six. And Billy?
11:35Six.
11:36A six. OK, well, it'll be points on the board, Mike.
11:38What have you got?
11:39Wiles.
11:40Wiles, add that as well. Billy?
11:41Homies.
11:42And homies.
11:43Let's go to my homies in Dictionary Corner.
11:45Yes.
11:46Brendan, sixes?
11:47Yeah, I've got a six, thank you, yes.
11:49Usually.
11:50Usually?
11:51Yes.
11:52And that's it? Is that right?
11:53That's absolutely it, yes.
11:54OK, well, Mike, that gets you on the board.
11:56Long way to go, and these are the rounds that make a big difference,
11:59the ten-point rounds.
12:00And it's your numbers, Billy.
12:01One large, please, Rachel.
12:02Keeping it as simple as possible.
12:04One large, five little.
12:06This round is five, three, two, ten, six and 75.
12:14But will it be a simple target?
12:16149.
12:18Numbers up.
12:49Mike, please tell me you've got this or we're going to swap seats.
12:52I did get this one, 149.
12:54Good, lovely. Billy?
12:55149.
12:56Go on, Mike.
12:57Two times 75 is 150.
12:59Yep.
13:00Six minus five is one.
13:01Yeah.
13:02Take the one off 150.
13:03I'm not writing that one up.
13:04Same way.
13:05Yeah.
13:06Absolutely, well done.
13:07APPLAUSE
13:08Lovely.
13:09Right, let's put the competition on ice for a second.
13:11Brendan, I want you to tell me all about that experience
13:13of dancing on ice more recently,
13:15because, I mean, logic says you're going to be great at it,
13:17but you had ice to it.
13:19I mean, I'm good at football, but I can't play it on ice.
13:21Different story.
13:22I had a great time on dancing on ice.
13:24It was very interesting going from, you know, 15 series of Strictly
13:28to then being a contestant on the ice
13:30and having to learn from somebody else,
13:32which was a very interesting sort of dynamic.
13:36But I loved it.
13:37I loved the learning process,
13:38six months of solid learning how to perform on ice.
13:42One of the challenges that people are quite interested in
13:44is the dynamic between the two,
13:46which is harder, dancing on ice or Strictly?
13:49Both very different.
13:51If you take dancing on ice, for example, you sort of...
13:55You go forward, you go backwards, you do a crossover, you do a crossover.
13:58That's kind of the basics to every single number,
14:01whereas on Strictly, as Rachel will attest to,
14:04you've got to learn...
14:06A waltz is completely different to a cha-cha-cha, for example.
14:10So every week on Strictly, you're learning a brand-new discipline
14:14and sometimes the week before does not help you in the slightest,
14:17whereas on ice, you get that feeling,
14:19you know you've got to go forward, you know you're going to go backwards.
14:22But let me tell you, the pain that you go through on ice,
14:26I was... I've still got two hernias from the show.
14:29It's absolutely insane how much you...
14:31When you hit the deck, it is like hitting concrete.
14:34But an amazing experience.
14:36If you ever get the chance to try, try.
14:39But what's harder?
14:42They're two different shows, both dancing,
14:44but I'm not sure you can call it...
14:47You did really well. Does that mean now
14:49if you take the family ice skating at Christmas,
14:51are you like those annoying speed skaters that go round?
14:53I'm going to be one of them. I studied hard for six months.
14:56I'm going to be one of those who flies around.
14:58I look forward to taking my children skating, actually,
15:01and being able to show them what to do. It's an amazing feeling.
15:04Back to being a teacher, which is a good thing.
15:06Right, lovely. Thank you, Brendan. Thank you.
15:09APPLAUSE
15:11That's a good song. 49 points for Billy, our challenger.
15:14Champion Mike, back on 16, and it's your letters.
15:17Start with a consonant, please, Rachel.
15:19Thank you, Mike. C
15:21And another.
15:23R And another.
15:25N
15:27And another.
15:29T
15:31And one more.
15:33G And a vowel.
15:35And another.
15:37A And another.
15:39A
15:41And one last one.
15:43And the last one. O
15:45Good luck.
16:05MUSIC PLAYS
16:17Both of you are writing right till the very end.
16:19Pens down, though. Billy? Five.
16:21Sticking with a five. Mike? Seven.
16:23And a seven. The five, Mr Whitehead?
16:25Grown. And this will be grown when you hear the seven.
16:28Mr Cannon? Cartoon.
16:30Cartoon. Well done. It is there. Excellent.
16:32And given the score, you should be animated.
16:34Thank you very much. Wow. Brilliant.
16:36There is one further seven. Octagon.
16:39And if you're a dancer, you should have seen Tango,
16:42which I was very impressed that I got all by myself.
16:44Yes, brilliant. The octagon is the UFC.
16:46Do you ever watch a bit of that? I've watched a bit of that, yes.
16:49Yeah, you like that? Yeah, I do.
16:51I just find it hard to watch. Brutal.
16:53I'd rather watch Dr Pimple Popper.
16:56What can you do?
16:58Right, Billy, your letters.
17:00Consonant, please, Rachel. Thank you, Billy.
17:02S. And another.
17:05L. And another.
17:07R. And another.
17:10T. Vowel.
17:12U. And another.
17:14A. And another.
17:16I.
17:18Consonant.
17:20W.
17:22And a vowel.
17:24And the last one, A.
17:26Start the clock.
17:32MUSIC PLAYS
17:57How did you get on, Mike? Six.
17:59A six for you. And Billy? Six.
18:01OK, Mike, what have you got? Walrus.
18:03Billy? Trails.
18:05Trails and walrus.
18:07Fairly straightforward round here, Brendan, me old mucker.
18:09Couple of good sixes, one good seven.
18:11Rituals.
18:13There you go, rituals. Yes.
18:15I always loved the entry for walrus, because in the Oxford English Dictionary,
18:18the entry for the walrus was written by Tolkien.
18:21I'm assuming it wasn't just drafted in the right one word.
18:25No, he wrote quite a lot, because he was a professor of Anglo-Saxon
18:28and he worked on the dictionary as well.
18:30So, yeah, it's just quite special reading his words.
18:32OK, it's time for another numbers round now.
18:34And, Mike, you're choosing.
18:36Can I have an inverted T, please, Rachel?
18:38Still not gambling.
18:40Still going for one from the top and five little.
18:42Let's see how this one pans out.
18:44Your five little numbers are nine,
18:46two, six,
18:48three and four.
18:50And the large one, 25.
18:52And the target, 637.
18:55Numbers up.
18:58MUSIC
19:00MUSIC CONTINUES
19:02MUSIC CONTINUES
19:28OK, 637,
19:30multiply the 25. Billy?
19:32645, not fully written down.
19:35OK, partly written down. Mike?
19:37633.
19:39633, that's closer. Off you go, Mike.
19:41So, 4 x 25 is 100.
19:434 x 25 is 100.
19:45Multiply by the 6. 600.
19:472 x 9 is 11. Yep.
19:49Multiply that by 3 for 33.
19:51And add the two together.
19:53You've gained some ground. Well done.
19:55Seven points.
19:57Rachel, how do you get ten?
19:59I've got a few different ways to get this one.
20:01And what on a bridge?
20:036 plus 2 is 8.
20:05Times by 3 for 24.
20:07Add it to 25 for 49.
20:10And then 9 plus 4 is 13.
20:13And 13 x 49...
20:15637.
20:17APPLAUSE
20:19Well, that is wonderful.
20:21But where it counts is seven more points for Mike
20:23as he's clawing back at Billy,
20:25so it's all set up for a perfect final part.
20:28We're going to have a tea-time teaser for now.
20:30It's linked bar.
20:32The answer to this is linked to what you get from the bar.
20:35So, linked bar.
20:36The answer to this is linked to what you get from the bar.
20:54Welcome back. Linked bar was the tea-time teaser.
20:57The answer to this is linked to what you get from the bar,
21:00which is drinkable.
21:02And so far, we're not sure who's going to be drowning their sorrows
21:05at the end of today's countdown.
21:06It could be our champion, Mike.
21:08He trails at the moment by 19 points.
21:10But if you're just tuning in, Billy was on the show 20 years ago
21:13and lost on a crucial countdown conundrum.
21:15So, it's great to watch as a neutral,
21:17but you two must be getting a bit squeaky bomb.
21:20Let's get some more letters from you, Billy.
21:22Consonant, please, Rachel.
21:24Thank you, Billy.
21:27S. And another.
21:29C. And another.
21:32N. Vowel.
21:35E. And another.
21:37I. And another.
21:40A.
21:42Consonant.
21:44P.
21:47Vowel.
21:49And a final A.
21:51OK, good luck to you both.
21:56WHISTLE BLOWS
21:58WHISTLE BLOWS
22:25Time is up. Mike?
22:27I have a seven...
22:31Sorry, an eight, not written down.
22:33OK. Mike, we've got to be strict.
22:35We've got to take the seven off you.
22:37OK, that's what you declared. Billy?
22:39Eight. And an eight there.
22:41Oh, this is a little bit heartbreaking. Mike?
22:43So, captains.
22:45Captains. OK. And Billy?
22:48Captains.
22:50Right. And that means Billy picks those points up.
22:53Brendan, that's a little heartbreaking, isn't it?
22:56Give us a hug. No, you can't.
22:58Thank you very much.
23:00Too far away. OK, well, that's fantastic from both of them.
23:03It's a really brilliant one.
23:05Yes, there was a lovely seven there.
23:07Some consolation, catnaps.
23:09Yeah. OK.
23:11Feeling a bit of pressure there, Mike?
23:13Sorry at the end and didn't quite get the number right.
23:16OK, well, it's a big eight points to Billy.
23:1863 plays 36.
23:20Let's get some more letters now. And it's you, Mike.
23:22Start with the consonant, please, Rachel.
23:24S
23:26And another.
23:28T
23:30And another.
23:32V
23:34And another.
23:36B
23:38And a vowel, please.
23:40I
23:42And another.
23:44O
23:46And another.
23:48E
23:50And another.
23:52Time's up.
23:54Let's have a look.
24:23Challenger, Billy, how many?
24:25Just six. It's six here. Mike, clearly...
24:28A seven. A seven, are you sure? Yes.
24:30OK, Billy, what's your word?
24:32Bodies. Bodies, that's what I had. Mike?
24:35Devotes. And devotes.
24:37We're just glad we had a round with no controversy, Brendan.
24:41But he's got the seven. Got the seven.
24:43Same seven as we've got here.
24:45There is also betide.
24:47Right, OK. That means we're back to a 20-point game
24:51and you're just going to have a little bit of time
24:53to sit and think about what lies ahead
24:55as we go back for Origins of Words with Susie.
24:58What have we got today?
25:00You were just talking about sitting and waiting.
25:02I'm going to talk a little bit about sitting.
25:04I actually just looked up, during the Numbers round,
25:06sorry, Rachel, but squeaky bum time,
25:08because you mentioned that, not in the dictionary yet.
25:10Well, that's Sir Alex, isn't it?
25:12Squeaky bum time, Manchester United.
25:14It'll be credited when it goes in.
25:16But actually, I was going to link into you talking about obsessions,
25:19secret obsessions and passions at the beginning.
25:22And obsess is a really dark, quite sinister word
25:25because it comes from the Latin ob and then sidere,
25:28which means to sit opposite.
25:30So the idea is that if you're really obsessive,
25:33you might find yourself sitting across from the target of your interest
25:37in a slightly sort of creepy, perhaps, stalkerish way.
25:40So not a lovely word at all.
25:43Some words to do with sitting are very, very obvious.
25:46The sitting room is where you would go and sit
25:48as opposed to the parlour, where you would talk.
25:50So that's linked to Parliament, a talking place.
25:53Anyway, back to sitting.
25:55You might not think that size, as in this is a good size, for example,
25:59has anything to do with the assizes,
26:02the courts that, for a long time,
26:04sat at intervals in each county of England and Wales
26:06and they administered civil and criminal law
26:08until we got the High Court and then the Crown Court.
26:11But actually, it goes back to the Latin assidere, to sit by,
26:15because these judges were sitting in judgment.
26:18That was the idea.
26:20And they were assessing, which also goes back to the same idea,
26:23the same notion.
26:25And this judgment often would be fixing an amount.
26:28It would be a sentence that they were passed down
26:30or it would be an amount that had to be paid by one person to another.
26:33And so this idea of stipulating an amount led to the word's use,
26:37assize, to express magnitude and bulk.
26:40And we split assize in the wrong way.
26:43We thought it was a size.
26:45And that's how size came to mean what it does today, which I love.
26:48And finally, just a German one, which I quite like, the Bundestag.
26:51In German, the government building.
26:53And that goes back to Bunde, meaning federation.
26:56But the tag bit was also sitting.
26:58So, again, people would come and sit
27:00and discuss the orders of the day.
27:02What a journey that was.
27:04APPLAUSE
27:06OK, the Lee Whitehead are challenged.
27:08You're sitting semi-comfortably, I'd say.
27:11But two more letters rounds, then we've got numbers and the conundrum.
27:14Loads of points for Mike still to make up that 20-point gap.
27:18But, Billy, it's your letters.
27:20Consonant, please, Rachel.
27:22Thank you, Billy. L.
27:24And another.
27:26P. And another.
27:28N. And another.
27:30R. Vowel.
27:33I. And another.
27:35E. And another.
27:37O.
27:39Consonant.
27:41G.
27:43Vowel.
27:45A final U.
27:47Start the clock.
28:09BELL RINGS
28:19OK, Billy, how many did you manage?
28:21Seven. Seven for Billy. Mike?
28:23Seven. And a seven. OK, what's yours, Billy?
28:26Pouring. Pouring. And Mike?
28:28Eloping. Let's elope to Dictionary Corner.
28:30Brendan?
28:32Ooh, there's a nice eight. Plongeur.
28:34P-L-O-N-G-E-U-R.
28:37I have no idea. Posh plunger?
28:39No, it's literally one who plunges,
28:41but it's come over from French
28:43and it's somebody who washes up in hotels and restaurants.
28:46OK. 20 points remains the gap.
28:49So this is arguably, Mike, the most important round so far
28:52and you get to pick the letters, so let's see what way you'll go.
28:55Start with the consonant, please, Rachel.
28:57Thank you, Mike. F.
28:59And another.
29:01T. And another.
29:03P.
29:05And one more.
29:07Y.
29:09And a vowel, please.
29:11I.
29:13And another.
29:15E.
29:17And another.
29:19A.
29:21And a consonant.
29:23R.
29:25And one more consonant, please.
29:27A final F.
29:29Last letters.
29:35ELECTRONIC MUSIC PLAYS
29:59Mike?
30:01Six. OK. And Billy?
30:03And a six. OK, it was one of those rounds.
30:05What's yours, Mike? Tapir.
30:07Tapir and Billy.
30:09Parity.
30:11And parity, which there certainly isn't at the moment.
30:13There was sort of a lorry load of sixes, Brendan.
30:17I don't know if anyone's got anything better, though.
30:19Nothing better over here unless Susie's got something.
30:22No, I was just going to pick you up, Mike, on tapir.
30:25How are you spelling that?
30:27T-A-P-I-E-R.
30:29Oh, the animal is T-A-P-I-R without the E.
30:31I'm so sorry. No worries.
30:33Well spotted, Sus.
30:35So that means Billy picks up the six points,
30:38which 20 years after being beaten on the Crucial Countdown Conundrum,
30:42we can say now he's managed to gain redemption 20 years later.
30:46Well done to you.
30:48APPLAUSE
30:51OctoChamp is the next challenge, let me tell you.
30:54Mike, I'm already missing you, I have to say that.
30:57So let's go out with a bang. Billy's going to give us the numbers.
31:00One last, please, Rachel.
31:02Thank you. A little bit of numbers target practice here.
31:05The final one of the day.
31:0710, 7, 4, 5, 1.
31:12And the large one, 50.
31:14And your target, 597.
31:17There you go, let's do it.
31:30ELECTRONIC MUSIC PLAYS
31:48597. Mike?
31:51597.
31:53597, right on the button. Billy?
31:55597.
31:57I'm not getting to do it cos Mike's not coming back. Off you go, Mike.
32:005 plus 7 is 12.
32:02Yep. Multiply that by 50.
32:04600.
32:054 minus 1 is 3.
32:07Take it off.
32:09Well done.
32:10Same way, Billy?
32:11Yeah.
32:12APPLAUSE
32:14Well, 96 would be some score, Billy,
32:16if you could get that Countdown Conundrum.
32:19Detainers all those years ago haunted you.
32:22Mike, you haven't actually had a Countdown Conundrum yet,
32:25and you've won more than the first two.
32:27In fact, Rachel, you managed to get the last two.
32:30So you're on this unprecedented hat-trick.
32:32So I'm excited about this,
32:34even though there's nothing on it in terms of the winner.
32:37Secretly won Mike to get this.
32:39Let's reveal today's Countdown Conundrum.

33:06Oh, Billy's buzzed.
33:08Dislocate.
33:09Dislocate. Let's have a look.
33:12Yes!
33:13APPLAUSE
33:17Now, that was 25 seconds on the clock.
33:20The big question is, with five seconds to go,
33:22Rachel, did you know it?
33:24I think I had it, yeah.
33:26Popping that clock on for the hat-trick another time.
33:29So, so close.
33:30Well, 96 to Billy.
33:32Mike, two wins, and you've been wonderful to have around.
33:36You sound like the best night in, ever.
33:38Thank you very much.
33:39You're the man after my own heart for that.
33:41And I love it.
33:42But who done it, is the question and murder she wrote?
33:44Billy Whitehead done it, I'm afraid.
33:46You're gone. Thank you for being here.
33:48Brilliant, brilliant.
33:50APPLAUSE
33:51He gets the teapot for Billy, you get redemption.
33:53How did that feel, actually, coming back and winning,
33:55two decades later?
33:56Fantastic, Colin. Worth it.
33:58Wonderful. Let's see how far you can go.
34:00We'll find out. Well done.
34:02Back tomorrow, as will Brendan, as will Susie.
34:04Thank you so much.
34:05Thank you.
34:06Rachel?
34:07Well, after you've binge-watched my recommendation
34:09of Dr Pimple Popper, I suggest you move on to Botched.
34:12It's the next level up.
34:13It's plastic surgery gone wrong,
34:15so there's body parts where they shouldn't be,
34:17but they normally put them back where they should be at the end,
34:19so it's a happy ending.
34:20Rachel, you and I need to have a conversation.
34:22Countdown.
34:23Countdown it ain't, but it will be.
34:25Same time, same place tomorrow.
34:27Rachel, Susie and I will be here.
