00:00So Sobok is a sneaker festival we've been doing for quite a few years now
00:03and we always bring it back to SWG3 in Glasgow. It's more than just a normal sneaker festival,
00:11it's a full day out for all the family, you know we have kids zones, street food, DJs and
00:19loads of people selling sneakers. So our main sponsor at Sobok is eBay and eBay always bring
00:24a lot to the event. This year they've got some great surprises in store, they give away sneakers,
00:29there'll be competitions, there'll be loads of activities that you can get involved in.
00:33When we first started doing Sobok it was always just about, the aim is just about selling sneakers,
00:38trading sneakers, a bit of a community. That has grown from a couple of dozen people to
00:44loads more. We've got two or three rooms of people selling trading sneakers,
00:49there's sneakers for everyone, you know kids, mums, dads, you know everybody there. We've always
00:55tried to keep it community based and in that sense we have a lot more going on. People can bring
01:00trainers on the day and trade them with some of the stall holders, people can come and get involved
01:06in competitions, quizzes, all sorts of different things. There's talks for people to hear about
01:13much more what's happening in the sneaker community and generally we've always seemed to have it in a
01:19way that people have always seemed to spend the whole day there because we have loads of good
01:22street food, we have loads of DJs and loads of activities going on in the day. So a few years
01:27ago we started a Facebook page called G1 Runners and it was always just about, you know at that
01:32time at the very beginning there was just a few people that were into sneakers but you know that's
01:37massively grown. There's probably not a kid in the city now that doesn't own more than one pair of
01:42sneakers and is always getting involved. Nike do all these big drops at shops like End, you know
01:49we've got loads of resale shops that have popped up in the city like Kersh, Kix, Exceed, you know
01:54they're all over. So there's a lot more than when we first started it so at the moment I would say
02:03it's probably the healthiest it's ever been. On the day, Sneakers of the Yard will be there, they'll be doing
02:07spots cleans, people can come along, you can just sit in the chair, you can get your sneakers cleaned
02:12for free, chat away about what's going on in the day. As I say we have all the eBay stuff that's
02:17going on, upstairs we have a whole kids area which we always have. We'll have treasure
02:24hunts for the kids, they can win sneakers, they can win other prizes, we'd be doing competitions, there's
02:30a soft play area for kids, they can make bracelets and charms and the whole idea of doing the kids
02:35area is mum and dad can come along in the day, you know mum can be sitting drinking a cocktail, dad
02:40can be looking for sneakers and the kids could be getting looked after and it's Mini Maneuvers
02:46who are quite well known in the city for doing kids events, they look after that whole area for us.
