00:00and looking at Birmingham City now obviously since we last caught up that they have won the
00:06lead they have confirmed their place in the championship let's just take a little review
00:10in terms of their season I mean such an impressive rise we mentioned obviously Chris Davies wasn't a
00:15an out-and-out manager before this season he's been unbelievable and you know yes they've been
00:21competing at a lower level yes we sort of predicted that this would be the outcome but
00:24they have still had to go and achieve this feat you know over 90 points a fantastic season for
00:31the Blues and their fan base as well so what would you sort of made of this refreshing season
00:36in League One for Birmingham City? I think it's been a blessing in disguise being relegated down to
00:41League One in all honesty that sounds strange to say any relegation should be absolutely heart-wrenching
00:47it should be devastating for a football club but the way they've picked themselves back up again
00:51the way that Chris Davies has come in for his first managerial job the way that they've reinvented
00:56the squad yes they've spent a lot of money unprecedented amounts you would expect them
01:00to go straight back up but it still takes that cohesion it still takes a manager to bring everyone
01:05together and to stay motivated as well there's a lot of characters that have dropped down divisions
01:09to be in this position who've been convinced by the project and they've decided that they want to
01:14stick on with it they want to train hard every single day that's something I've been speaking to
01:18Davies about recently is how do you keep that motivation high when you know that you're going
01:22to win the title you know you're going to go up you know you're going to Wembley etc and it's just
01:26said that he wants everyone to work hard every day otherwise they're not going to be part of his
01:30future plans and I think the players have really bought into that rotation as well has played a key
01:35part even someone like a Christian Bielik the club captain who last season and the start of this
01:40looks so so important he's hardly been able to get a game because there's just so many players in
01:43that squad capable of playing in this level and then up into the championship as well
01:47it's been seriously impressive it's unfortunate they couldn't add that silverware at Wembley
01:52being beaten by Peterborough United certainly devastating but having that day out as well
01:56nearly 50,000 Blues fans it's just great for the morale and hopefully they can have many days like
02:01that in the future yeah Tom Wagner was was quite vocal in terms of you know saying his this blue side
02:08won't let fans down again and you know he can't overstated the the disappointment of the
02:13Wembley trip obviously not going to plan on the pitch you know you've got to look at the bigger
02:18picture in terms of competing in higher stakes games they're going to have to go and compete
02:22you know when it matters most in the championship next season their their ambitions are not going
02:27to be to settle in the championship there's no bones about it you know we've learned enough
02:32about the the ownership the project now but to to realize that that's going to be the goal is to
02:37really compete towards the top six you know we've seen multiple times the likes of West Brom how close
02:42the playoff race is do you feel Birmingham have enough do you feel they they can really compete
02:47and look to head look ahead to sort of going up and really making sure that they're making a
02:53great sort of steps towards progress in the championship next season yeah I don't think
02:59that people can be expecting to be promoted straight away I don't think that's realistic that the
03:03championship is so so competitive we've seen that especially this season the likes of Coventry City
03:07being in and amongst the relegation contenders and then Frank Lampard comes in within a few months
03:12they're suddenly playoff contenders promotion contenders anything can happen and Blues can't be
03:17naive even they saw it when they were sixth under John Eustace he goes Wayne Rooney comes in and then
03:23they drop away and they are relegated it's one of the most unpredictable divisions in the world let alone
03:28just in England so they can't take anything for granted they've got to work hard I think the
03:33concern is of Wembley can they deal with these big occasions are they able to compete when the
03:37pressure is on them I think it was a one-off maybe maybe the pressure did gets them slightly they just
03:43weren't quite at the races but at the end of the day two goals were outside the box one was a free
03:48kick in off the crossbar it's not going to be often that you can see two goals like that in a game
03:53yes they should have been better in the attacking third themselves they're a little bit too slow a little
03:57bit too ponderous but that was also down to Peterborough sitting back really deep with their lead
04:02you can't have that every single week you're not going to have that every single week and they
04:05have proven on so many occasions they can beat the bigger teams in and around them the games against
04:10Wrexham for instance um the amount of pressure on them not just in England and Wales but also across
04:16the world of the whole documentary in America all the big names coming over David Beckham and Tom Brady
04:21and Ryan Reynolds and co they dealt with that fine so I think once they get to the championship
04:25it won't be a walk in the park but I think they'll be a
04:28so just like I haven't seen the championship I'll give it a minute but I'll give you a
04:30good evening and I'll give you a shot
04:31so I think you can see one of the other guys in this in the room
04:32I think it's kind of a bit of a walk in the room
04:34I think it's a national park and I think it's a strong one of the people who want to
04:35come here in the room and I can see some of those people who are just
04:36in the room where they go out of the gym but you do not want to serve the
04:38hand only we can see some of those who want to show them
04:39it is so we want to be a big message and we can see it
04:47because of all the people who want to get the chancellor's right and we can here
