Transcript
00:00Hello again, Conor Gormley here for Sussex World and this is your daily news bulletin
00:05where I run you through all of our top stories from across both East and West
00:09Sussex today. Plans have been drawn up for 35 new homes in a village south of
00:13Horsham, Sussex World has reported. Developers at Devin, I think that's
00:17how you pronounce it, homes are looking for permission to build properties on
00:21land south of Station Road in Cowfold. They also want to provide a new access
00:25road off the A272 as well as new pedestrian access along with extra
00:30parking spaces and a drop-off point for the nearby St. Peter's School. It's hoped
00:34the plans, if successful, will provide the area with some much-needed family
00:39housing, developers say. The Revelius Hotel in Eastbourne has received a Trip
00:44Advisor Traveller's Choice Award which means it's been recognised as one of the
00:47top, sorry, as within the top 1% of the website's listings worldwide, that's in
00:53terms of ratings and popularity. It's one of the most prestigious awards in
00:57the space, you can imagine how popular Trip Advisor is, and this is the second
01:01year in a row that the hotel has won it, giving owners Chris and Carolyn Hardwood
01:05Harwood, sorry, plenty of cause to celebrate. 37 miles of
01:11off-road track, the South Downs Link that is, has been named the most beautiful
01:15gravel cycling lane in Britain in other news. Gravel cycling, which sees
01:19intrepid cyclists riding on unpaved surfaces, is already popular in the US
01:24and it's just starting to catch on here in Britain. So by studying routes all
01:28over the country, looking for the most photographed, the most popular, bike
01:32company Merlin Cycles has identified the South Downs Link as one of the prettiest
01:36and most frequented in the UK. That's all from me for today, but for more from us
01:41here at Sussex World, do make sure to visit our website, follow us on social
01:45media, and buy your local newspaper each and every week. Thanks very much for
01:49listening.
