00:00At this point, we will be joined by Quezon City Disaster Risk Production and Management Spokesperson, Pitchie De Leon.
00:08Good evening, Pitchie. This is Pia Arcangel.
00:10Good evening, Ms. Pia.
00:12First of all, Pitchie, how are you? What is the latest situation?
00:17Are there still people who are asking for rescue in your area and are you still looking for people in these areas?
00:25Yes, the rescue operations of the Quezon City Government are still ongoing together with some volunteers from AFP, PNP, Bureau of Fire, and the Joint Task Force of NPR.
00:39Where are your rescue operations now?
00:43It is based on the social media where we gather information and verify it.
00:53Right now, it is concentrated in several barangays like Apollo, Samson, Tatalon, Santo Domingo, Talayan, Del Monte, San Antonio, Damayang Lagi, Bahay Toro, Damayan, Inelda, Gulot, and Masambung.
01:12So in those places, how is the ongoing rescue operations? Do they receive help from the evacuation center?
01:24Yes. As of 7 p.m., we have 14,491 families evacuated.
01:36That's 50,822 individuals with 93 barangays affected and we have 210 evacuation centers.
01:47Here in these evacuation centers, the Quezon City Government is monitoring and delivering hot meals.
01:57The city health is monitoring to prevent the spread of diseases inside the evacuation centers.
02:05Ma'am Pichi, you mentioned earlier that you are gathering information from social media.
02:10But for those who want to ask for help or to ask for help, how can they call or send a message?
02:19Okay. They can call the hotline of Quezon City, just dial 122.
02:26Or on the Quezon City Government page on Facebook, just put your information, exact address and phone number so that it can be verified and put on the list for rescue operations.
02:41And for now, Ma'am Pichi, there is no plan for your rescue operations because it is already night.
02:48There is no report. It will take a while because the other roads that are directed to the verified rescue area,
03:02the water level should be higher. So those who are asking for help should just wait.
03:10The Quezon City Government will do everything in the leadership of our Mayor Joy Del Monte
03:19so that they can all be rescued. We will not stop so that they can be rescued.
03:24Thank you very much, Ma'am Pichi De Leon, spokesperson of Quezon City DRRMO.
