00:00Sarawak has yet to receive the 100 million ringgit Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced
00:07as reimbursement for funds allocated by the state to expedite the repair and upgrade of
00:12dilapidated schools and clinics, says Deputy Premier Dr. Sim Kwekian.
00:18Sim, who is also the state public health, housing and local government minister, said
00:23the government will proceed with the projects using the state's own funds.
00:27He said the state will plan with the funds allocated by the Premier and will keep track
00:30of the Prime Minister's promise, the Borneo Post reported.
00:34On June 22, Premier Abang Johari Openg announced that the state government had set aside 100
00:40million ringgit to expedite the repair and upgrading of dilapidated rural schools and
00:44allocated another 100 million ringgit to repair run-down clinics.
00:49Abang Johari said Sarawak would advance the funding first and be reimbursed later by the
00:53federal government.
00:55At the same event, Anwar also said he would instruct the finance ministry to release 100
01:00million ringgit immediately as part of the agreement between Sarawak and the federal
01:04government to expedite these projects.
