00:00It's a fantastic day for Armed Forces Day. We've launched it by raising the flag and
00:16then we all got paraded, inspected and then we've done a fantastic march up the centre
00:22of Leeds and you've got a wide range of Army, Navy, Air Force, Gurkhas, Royal Engineers,
00:28Marines but more importantly is the Cadet side of it. So we've got a lot of youngsters
00:33out today, a lot of family and friends have joined them. It's a good family network to
00:39be part of. It's actually a celebration, it's a launch. It's one day of the year which is
00:46for the Armed Forces, whether it's serving Armed Forces, whether it's Cadets, whether
00:51it's Veterans. There's a massive Veterans community in Leeds and we're all coming together.
00:58I've met a few of my old Army pals. We've all spoke together but like John said, it's
01:05a good day. We're all meeting people that we haven't seen for years, getting the community
01:10to join in. It's just like he says, it's one complete big family and we're happy with it.
01:16The original launch for the Poppy Appeal for this year will be the 24th of October.
01:22We're all ex-military, we're members of the Aid and Veterans Association and we come here
01:28every year. It's marvellous, there's some marvellous stalls and the weather's kept nice
01:35so what more could you want? It's nice to see all the young Cadets all joining up. Yeah.
01:43It's nice to see that somebody's going to carry on. It's also a poignant remembrance
01:49for the fallen. Even if it's two minutes, doing the two minute silence, it's emotional
01:54but it's more of a celebration but we will always remember them.
