A Remembrance Sunday service was held in Victoria Gardens in Leeds City Centre as the city paid tribute to servicemen and women who lost their lives for their country and to those impacted by conflicts.

00:00I served in Corps of Royal Engineers from 2007 to 2014 and I lost a few friends throughout
00:15the service so it means a lot to remember them and also the people that have fallen
00:22before them. I just think it's nice to see the people of Leeds coming out and remembering
00:28people important to them as well. For me it's really important because to remember the people
00:34who have fought for you and your life, like the quote says, they lost their today to gain
00:41your tomorrow. It's really important to me. I've always come with my grandad and my family
00:48here but recently we've lost my grandad this year so it's weird to be without him but we've
00:57come every single year for the last 10 years with him and that's what these medals are
01:02representing him and his dad and I'd like to carry on the legacy.
01:08His dad were in World War One. There wasn't too many specific stories I could say it was
01:28just like stuff in battle from the World War One but from what I know they were both very
01:35resilient and strong minded men. There was lots of people today gathering. I've seen
01:41the Lord Mayor today in the Civic Hall and we talked about my great grandad who was in
01:50the World War and the World War Two. I think it's really great that we can all come together
01:56to represent and support the lost.
