00:00Today is all about commemorating 80 years since D-Day, Operation Overlord.
00:04Three of us have all served but, you know, we pay thanks to those that came, paid the ultimate
00:11sacrifice. Obviously for those that have come home, we're supporting them through the years
00:17and obviously things they went through and just make sure we don't forget, you know, the freedoms
00:22and the rights that we have today as a result of the conflict and how we went and stopped Nazi
00:27Germany. Those few hours on the morning of the 6th of June, the bravery and the courage was immense.
00:3380 years D-Day, you can't forget and you can't rewrite history. All we can do is keep the stories going,
01:01keep the memories going. Yes, people have gone but they've never been forgotten
01:07and hopefully the main aim is this, is learn by mistakes. You've got to keep a bright future,
01:14you've got to give hope and for me personally, I like to volunteer and keep the spirits up.
01:21You've got to remember it, you can't forget or let the future forget. You've got to commemorate
01:27every year really, you know, because it is every year isn't it, D-Day, really think about it.
01:31There's also 6th of June isn't there, you know, so you've got to think about that all the time.
01:35The importance is that we've got to try and strive that we never have to go through
01:42what we've done in the two wars previously. There's got to be some way these days of
01:49making things happen without causing issues. People are alone in everything in the canal,
01:56everybody can always reach out and look for help if they need it.
