Opening of the £6.5m Scotland's Discovery Centre at the Highland Wildlife Park

00:30What a wonderful day here at the Highland Wildlife Park because today heralds a new era for the

00:46wildlife park as we actually open our Scottish Wildlife Discovery Centre. This is a project

00:51that has taken many years to actually come through, lots of blood sweat and tears from so many people

00:57but also some creativity and brilliance that just makes this awesome. It's incredibly exciting

01:03because this project, this development, this adventure is remarkable. It begins with a

01:09discovery zone where people learn about the Cairngorms, the people, the place, the animals

01:14of the Cairngorms. Then they come out to start experiencing the wonder that we have around the

01:19environment here. Then they go on the adventure through the wildlife park seeing some of the

01:24animals but then coming across other parts, our conservation den which tells all the amazing

01:30conservation stories that the Highland Wildlife Park and the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland

01:35are involved in. Our release of wildcats, our release of pine hoverflies, restoring them back

01:40to the wild. It's just remarkable and then people can experience our Learning Hive, this beautiful

01:48education space but more especially a community space, a space for people throughout the area to

01:55come and experience and use as part of their community hubs to encourage people, to encourage

02:00us all to protect, value and love nature. It's an exciting time, please come and experience it

02:07because it is wonderful.
