00:00 So trauma-informed and culturally appropriate care takes into consideration the individual's history, story and experiences.
00:09 Every woman is unique and different and the trauma that they've experienced affects them in a different way.
00:15 So they're not defined by the trauma, they have strengths, they have vulnerabilities, they have dreams, they have goals, they have visions.
00:22 We only go as far as is safe for the woman or the child to feel comfortable to share.
00:27 We don't impose questions and dig when they don't want to share.
00:31 Actually taking the time to try to understand their values and beliefs and where they're coming from and respect.
00:38 Respect and self-determination is a huge part of our practice and central to any of the women that we work with and children.
