00:00L.A. Clippers guard Lou Williams has been one of the most outspoken players in the league when it comes to making progress with social justice and racial inequality.

00:08During a conference call with the quarters on Saturday afternoon, Williams said that while the NBA season is ongoing,
00:12he'd like to see real progress made towards racial equality, saying quote,
00:15I'd like to see progression. I'd like the conversation to continue to move forward.
00:19We make positive steps in trying to create an environment where it's equality for all races.
00:23When asked about the NBA's decision to paint Black Lives Matter on the courts,
00:26which is something that Williams talked about almost a month ago, having them put that on the courts, put it on jerseys,
00:30which they've also did as well, he said he's happy to be heard by the NBA, saying quote,
00:35That's progression. I'm happy to know that I work for a company that stands alongside with minorities that's in this country.
00:40I want to make a bold statement like that.
00:42I thought it was important for the NBA to listen to the players, listen to our voices,
00:45put the things in motion we felt so strongly about and stand next to us on those issues.
00:49Now that the team has arrived in Orlando, Williams says he's realized that he can help the Clippers in pursuit of the franchise's first ever
00:54NBA title while still focusing on and being involved with social issues.
00:58The 33-year-old guard is in the midst of another successful season with Clippers,
01:02averaging 18.7 points and a career-high 5.7 assists in less than 30 minutes per game.
01:07The Clippers are indeed going to win a title this season, though he's Williams at his best.
