00:00At this point amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it's not as shocking when you hear a professional athlete has tested positive for the coronavirus.
00:09Although at this point, no Texas Rangers player or part of the organization has tested positive.
00:15Chris, I understand there is an update about some minor leaguers who are showing symptoms. Do you have any more on that?
00:22Unfortunately, three Texas Rangers minor league players have exhibited symptoms of COVID-19.
00:29Rangers GM John Daniels confirmed that with us on Monday via conference call.
00:34Two of those players have had family members who have had connections to a positive test.
00:40Those three players have not been tested.
00:44I'm sure the Rangers are very aware that the general public is short on testing right now.
00:51All three of those players have improved with their symptoms and they're on the mend.
00:56With them improving, the need for tests is probably not a great idea.
01:03It's a good thing for a major league baseball team to not be hasty in that scenario.
01:10Thankfully, they're on the mend. Who knows if they had it or not.
01:17The Rangers are treating it as if they were positive.
01:20They've been in self-isolation ever since they've exhibited symptoms.
01:24It's a development that the Rangers will obviously have to keep an eye on.
01:28They were preparing for this to change eventually.
01:32There are members of the organization who haven't directly gotten it,
01:37but have had family members who have gotten it or loved ones who have gotten it,
01:42including a family member that passed away as well.
01:45It's unfortunate. Everybody's being touched by this pandemic in one way or another.
01:51The Texas Rangers are not immune to this virus either.
01:56It's affecting everybody's everyday lives.
01:59Not just on the field, but off the field as well.
