00:00I think that's kind of what the projection is going off, but it's great to be recognized.
00:04Obviously, when you work as hard as I do and you're a competitor,
00:08you want to be up there with the best in the league.
00:10So, it's definitely an honor to be on that list.
00:13What do you like about right field as opposed to all the other places you've played?
00:16I mean, you can project as it comes to the arm and everything.
00:19There are reasons why you project highly.
00:22Is there anything particularly about that position you feel like you're especially strong at?
00:26Yeah, I mean, the run from first base to right field,
00:29first base dugout is a lot shorter.
00:31So, when I'm leading off in left field, that's a hike.
00:36So, right field, I was always jealous of Mads.
00:38He had to run out.
00:39You know, I'm sprinting across doing 100-yard shuttles,
00:42and he's walking out to right field.
00:44So, that's definitely a key point for me.
00:47But other than that, I think just growing up,
00:51you talk about right field like power arm, power bat, pretty good athlete,
00:57and I'm just a big guy, and I just always felt like I'm a right fielder.
01:02But I also had Mads, who I thought was a great right fielder as well.
01:05So, I just played wherever I could until I had the opportunity.
01:08So, I think, like I said, I'm kind of the prototypical right fielder,
01:12and I think that position fits me pretty well.
01:15You talked about some of your fellow athletes that you're going along with.
01:17Talk about the pitchers that have been added to the team.
01:20How excited are you looking at rotations?
01:23Man, it's crazy.
01:25We look online, I see our rotation 1 through 5.
01:28I'm like, jeez, I forget we required all these guys.
01:31They're all great pitchers.
01:33Obviously, Kluver, excited to not have to face him anymore.
01:37Like I said, that's about 10 less strikeouts a year for me,
01:39so that's good for my average.
01:42But, yeah, they're all guys that give you a chance to win games,
01:45and I think that as an offensive player, that's what you want.
01:49You want a guy who's going to go out there and give you a chance.
01:52And all those guys give us more than a chance to win games,
01:54so that's exciting for sure.
01:56Joey, it seems like the rotation and trying for Rendon and some other guys,
02:01it seems like the organization's mentality has shifted more to winning this year
02:06as opposed to the rebuild whenever it is.
02:09Do you guys sense that?
02:11Yeah, I mean, when you build a billion-dollar stadium,
02:15it's probably good to win in it.
02:17But realistically, so that's exciting.
02:20My three years here have kind of been, you know,
02:24we've been kind of middle of the pack or below 500
02:27and more from the rebuilding stage.
02:29So I'm excited that we're taking the steps to go out and, hey,
02:33we're going to go out there and put our best lineup out there.
02:35We're going to try to sign the best guys and win games.
02:38So that's exciting, at least for me,
02:40and I know a lot of guys that we're in that mode where it's like,
02:43hey, let's try to compete and see what happens.
02:47The field's just different than last offseason.
02:50Yeah, yeah, I think it does.
02:52You know, when you go out and get just guys like Kluber, you know,
02:56and you're signing Trinos and Frazier and Gibson, these guys, and Lyles,
03:00it's like those are really good players.
03:02You know, you're not signing those guys just to be mediocre.
03:04You're signing them to be, you know, a playoff team.
03:07So definitely a different feel.
03:09And I think with a new staff, a second year now,
03:11we have a better feel for them as well.
03:13So that's very exciting.
03:14That's what I was going to ask you about the second year.
03:16With Woody, I mean, last year at this time,
03:17you were still trying to get to know him.
03:18He was trying to get to know you guys.
03:19How different is it, though, and how much did you learn about him
03:22that you think makes a big difference now?
03:24Yeah, Woody, I mean, I can't say enough great things about Woody.
03:27I love Woody.
03:29One of the best managers I've ever had.
03:31Just a great guy who understands, you know, the nature of the game,
03:36understands personalities, understands, you know, how hard this game really is.
03:41So I think a lot of guys are a lot more comfortable this year,
03:44and I felt very comfortable in the first year as well
03:47because he's just that kind of personality we just get along with very easily.
03:50He's just one of the guys.
03:52But I think the second year, it's more, you know,
03:55you have that real connection now.
03:57You have that feel, and it's just, you know,
03:59now it's about going out and winning games.
04:01But, yeah, we couldn't put together a better staff.
04:04I think we're really blessed with the guys we have.
