00:00Hey, what's up? It's Corey Parson, the fantasy executive here from SI.com. We're starting
00:05to hear rumors that the majors could be coming back and we definitely need fantasy baseball
00:09at this time. Joining me to talk some Texas Rangers are SI's fantasy and gambling analyst
00:13Sean Charles and Rangers insider, Chris Hallett. Chris, give me a sleeper and a breakout on
00:19player on this team.
00:22A sleeper could be Nick Solak. He was the team's rookie of the year. He has a really,
00:27really good bat. He can play multiple positions. He's a little bit behind on the depth chart.
00:32Danny Santana looks like he's going to be in center field. Todd Frazier is going to
00:35play third base and Ruegen O'Doar is going to play second base, but he could slot in,
00:39like I said, a number of positions and the Rangers really, really like the upside of
00:43his bat. A breakout player could easily be Willie Calhoun. Listen, this guy hit 21 home
00:49runs in 83 games last year. That's nothing to sneeze at. When the Rangers originally
00:53acquired him from the Dodgers, when they sent you Darvish that way, they liked his
00:57bat there. He's worked on his defense. He's working primarily his first step on reading
01:01the ball in the outfield. This is a guy who could break out. He's got a really clean stroke
01:06from the left side. This is a really, really good player and the Rangers are really high
01:09on him.
01:10All right. Thanks a lot, Chris. Hey, Sean, what about a comeback player on this roster?
01:14It's kind of interesting. I got Ruegen O'Doar as a comeback player and it is his ADP is
01:22like 225 in a high stakes market, which is really kind of disappointing considering,
01:26you know, in the past a player with, you know, that much power and the efforts, a little
01:29bit of speed scores, runs and RBIs. He's got, he's given you four categories, but his batting
01:34average really, really, you know, was 205 for the year. Strikeout rates over 30% and
01:39people are just going to gravitate to that. But the, you know, two years before that he
01:42did a much better job. And I mean, I'm sorry, the previous year he did a much better job
01:46in that area. So he could easily bounce back, especially in a shortened season. He he's
01:51a guy that could be a middle of order bat with more power. He's young enough where he
01:54could still offer more upside. I really like what he brings to the table. I just wish he'd
01:58control the strike zone, strike zone a little bit better. And he did that early in his career.
02:02So he still has that skillset. So overall, I think he's kind of discounted and I think
02:06he's going to come back and probably be a top five or six round pick if he can hit like
02:09270 in the shortened season is definitely going to benefit him if he gets out of the
02:13gate good.
02:14All right. Thanks a lot, Sean and Chris. Major League Baseball, fantasy owners need
02:20you for the latest from the majors. Keep it locked right here at SI.com.
