00:00It's hard to believe that Texas Rangers game day is finally here.
00:04The strength of the Rangers is their starting pitching rotation
00:08with three potential number one pitchers.
00:12Here's what it means to Lance Lynn to be starting for
00:14the Rangers versus the Rockies on opening day.
00:18You know, it's an honor.
00:19I've never had that in all my career.
00:22So to be able to start opening day, I'm looking forward to it.
00:25I'm ready for it.
00:26I know that it's a weird year, but to be the first one out of the gate and
00:30hopefully I can start a strong and
00:32everybody can build off of that and we can make a run at this thing.
00:35And secondly, are you where you want to be personally for opening day right now?
00:42Yeah, I mean, when you look at the way it is, I've been to 100 pitches.
00:47Feel good physically.
00:48All my pitches are where I want to be.
00:50Now you can go into actually having a game plan and
00:54doing what you need to do to execute pitches,
00:57instead of just kind of out there working on stuff.
00:59So I'm looking forward to actually locking in a game plan and
01:03working with the catcher on what we want to do in and out, up, down, inning by inning.
01:07So I'm looking forward to that part of it.
01:09I mean, when you look at the way that the hitters are coming along,
01:14the last couple of days you haven't seen the full lineup of what it could be
01:19because of the way guys are spread out and all that.
01:22But guys are taking quality at bats.
01:24They're not giving in.
01:26They're making you earn your strikeouts, your outs, and that's what it's all about.
01:30And we've all been after each other for the last two weeks now.
01:34So you're starting to see that guys are starting to, those guys are starting to
01:38get locked in and pitchers are starting to look forward to seeing someone else
01:42instead of someone that you don't really want to run one in hard on or
01:46anything like that.
01:47So just part of the game, but I'm looking forward to seeing our group ready to go.
01:53I think as a staff, we came in here ready to do everything we could to be ready for
01:59the opening day and the hitters are where they need to be now too.
02:03Which is gonna happen because most of them didn't get live pitching for
02:07the most part.
02:07Some of them struggle with it, finding guys and stuff like that.
02:10So I'm looking forward to playing a real game that matters.
