A line of showers and storms sweeping east will leave cold weather in its wake across the Northeast.

00:00 Our top story is the cold front that's working its way off towards east that we saw a little bit of hail with in Fulton, Missouri earlier.
00:08 These thunderstorms, showers and a few rumbles of thunder did provide a little bit of that hail.
00:15 And that's not the only spot that we dealt with it, believe it or not.
00:18 So you can see the wet pavement there, a little bit of pea sized hail, nothing too damaging, thankfully.
00:25 But we're still keeping a close eye on some other threats that we have out there, including thunderstorms farther south along that frontal boundary.
00:34 So let's get into it, because again, as we open up the big board, there's always a lot to cover.
00:38 And we do want to begin with that threat for thunderstorms.
00:42 There are some thunderstorms right now starting to really build across Texas, and those are the ones that have been severe with the risk for hail.
00:49 We saw a little bit of thunderstorms with hail there in Missouri, and you'll note off towards the north, we've got another frontal boundary here.
00:57 There's actually two that are producing some of that wet weather in some locations.
01:01 So in a few spots, we are contending with that rainfall in a couple of areas.
01:07 All right, let's show you what's going on, too, with these thunderstorms here on the backside.
01:11 Michigan dealing with some thunderstorms, could be some wet weather there that is a bit challenging, maybe a little bit of hail mixing in.
01:18 But the wider shot shows we've got more rain working into areas that don't necessarily want more rain, especially as you get into western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio.
01:27 We've had a lot of rain recently in these locations, places like Rochester, New York.
01:32 You've been dealing with a wetter trend, too, over the past 30 days.
01:36 So the bullseye there right around Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh still dealing with a very wet April so far on record.
01:43 And we still are adding more rainfall potential as we head through the night.
01:47 Right now, the numbers, though, they're in the mid 60s in Pittsburgh, 48 in Buffalo, where that front is already starting to work its way on through Detroit, lower 50s.
01:54 So we've been pretty mild ahead of this frontal boundary.
01:58 But as we go behind it, those numbers will fall off a little bit more.

02:03 We'll see those showers advance towards New York City as we get into daybreak time frame.
02:07 And there's more rain out there for your Wednesday.
02:09 The core of the storm system, by the way, going into New England, that's where we bring at least extra rainfall.
02:15 And in some locations, even a few snowflakes.
02:17 So for Burlington, it's mostly rain temperatures in the upper 40s, but we will have a little bit of snow on the backside of this, a few flakes and some potential for a little bit through northern New Hampshire and into northern Maine.
02:30 Here's how the storm progresses.
02:31 Again, that cold front very quick to move across the northeast overnight tonight.
02:35 And you can see where those showers remain through tomorrow morning, right along the I-95 corridor or off towards east.
02:41 They move offshore pretty quickly, and there's still that cold pocket of air that kicks up a few sprinkles, maybe even a brief rumble of thunder before this pattern departs behind it.
