00:00 Hi, my name is Dirk, I'm the General Manager of the Mill in Hazelmere and we're very proud to announce that we have won the Pub of the Year for Surrey for 2024.
00:08 We've got the National Awards in June where we'll be travelling through and hopefully take the Regional title and maybe even the National.
00:15 But very proud of the team, we've worked really hard and yeah, couldn't be more chuffed.
00:19 So what would you kind of say makes your pub different to the rest and kind of how much work has gone into getting to this point where you've got such amazing recognition?
00:26 Yeah, I think what separates us is definitely the offering that we have got with Butcom.
00:32 We've got a fantastic food team who work really hard on the menus.
00:35 We've just launched our Spring and Summer menu, very seasonal, all local producers and suppliers.
00:41 So we work really hard on that side and the pub has been around for a very long time and we are blessed to have a lot of locals who come through with their families.
00:50 So it's a little bit different to your standard pub where families are a lot more welcome and we have a beautiful garden area where the kids can run around in a safe environment.
01:01 But yeah, we are proud of our achievements and we look forward to the finals.
01:08 Yeah, and what would you say to maybe people who have not yet tried you out and what would you say for them to come and give you a few?
01:14 Yeah, definitely. I think, like I say, I think the food offering is great. We have a fantastic children's menu as well.
01:19 We do a lot of events. We have got a lot lined up for the year, a lot of live music and local performers.
01:24 And then we have our Millfest in August. So a lot to look forward to and yeah, just a fun day out for those looking for that or kind of intimate dinner for those that want something a little bit more elevated on the food side.
01:38 So yeah, I think it's a great place to just kind of pop in and get what you want from the various things on offer.
