00:26 the night time economy. Even if the changes do come into fruition the earliest they can
00:30 be implemented is 2026 as they require a traffic regulation order and a consultation period.
00:36 The reason behind the proposal was to generate more money for the council to go back into
00:40 the city and help them make up for lockdown losses, create more space for people in the
00:44 city centre while also encouraging use of public transport.
00:47 The plans will now be referred back to the cross party budget group. The council said
00:51 they will now be considering the rebalancing of city centre streets and their longer term
00:55 plans for travel.
