Glasgow City Council did confirm there had been delays and apologised for the issues, saying they have now been resolved.

One woman said the bins had not been collected in over seven weeks.

Next up, a retired Glasgow police officer is to be an album cover star after having his picture taken 40 years ago.

John McDonald was photographed in the Blackhill area when he was just 22, an image that is now being used by the band Tijuana Bibles for their latest release Free Milk.

And in other news, Civerinos, one of Glasgow’s newest pizza chains, is offering free slices to customers on the 23 January.

The offer will be active between 11am and 12:30pm at their Finnieston venue to celebrate the launch of their new student discount.
