00:00 Everything's been really positive about the move.
00:03 Obviously, the old venue was under threat of redevelopment,
00:08 but I'm really excited to come to Broad Street
00:12 and all the customers and everyone's been really positive about our move.
00:17 Back in November, snobs announced it would be moving home
00:21 following the announcement of plans to demolish the Ringway Centre
00:25 to make way for flats.
00:27 The nightclub, boasting a lifespan of more than 50 years here in Birmingham,
00:31 will now continue its legacy on Broad Street,
00:34 offering an opportunity to improve on what made it such a mainstay of the city's nightlife.
00:42 Obviously, the new place has evolved a lot and the way the fit-out has been done.
00:49 Everything has to move on, so it's all the new technology.
00:53 But the grassroots, the snobs, will still say the same.
00:56 The indie on the ground floor, the student nights,
00:59 so everything else stays the same, but the new venue has evolved.
01:03 The last few years has seen the hospitality industry
01:06 struggle under the weight of the cost-of-living crisis,
01:10 but snobs believe that simplicity is key to ensure things keep moving forward.
01:17 Yeah, it has been difficult. It's very difficult for the hospitality industry.
01:22 All the snobs try to do is just deliver a good and a safe night.
01:29 And that's all we can try and do, to guarantee that people come in.
01:35 If we carry on doing exactly what snobs do, hopefully people will enjoy it.
01:41 Snobs' previous location, which it held for almost 10 years on Small Brook Queensway,
01:46 is well known to revellers.
01:48 We can expect fans of the old venue will make the small change to their travel plans,
01:54 should snobs retain its well-known vibe.
01:57 But its presence here on Broad Street may also attract new revellers
02:01 who will get to experience it for the first time.
02:05 I would like to think that some of the customers that wouldn't,
02:09 they've come to Snobs and the passing trade will come in and try us.
02:14 Yeah, and hopefully they enjoy what they see.
02:17 And as I say, one thing for snobs is it's always been
02:21 try to give them a safe environment to have a good night and a safe night.
02:28 Despite many delays in getting the nightclub back to its former glory,
02:33 with building works still present and expected to continue for the next few weeks,
02:38 the launch event was an undeniable success
02:41 and laid the groundwork for a strong future for a nightclub
02:46 which is synonymous with Birmingham nightlife.
02:49 Yeah, I've received it really well.
02:52 I think people are really shocked at how much the venue has changed from what it was.
02:57 And everyone seems to enjoy what we've done with it and the space.
