00:00 Verve Lounge is a premium cocktail bar located in the city centre. We'll be providing premium
00:07 drinks, quality service, live entertainment and DJs every week, hoping to get a lot of
00:18 the local area, attracting the local area.
00:25 This edifice was once the centrepiece of Birmingham's nightlife scene during its life as Bobby Brown's
00:31 and the opposite lock. It hosted an endless array of celebrities and trendy revellers
00:36 over its decades. Now, Verve Lounge is set to open its doors. It aims to take root here
00:42 on iconic Ghast Street and embark on a new chapter in this area's history.
00:49 Yeah I think this is going to sit well within history around this area. The plans we have
00:54 in the future, the upstairs and even the historic events of the venue, I think we will put a
01:01 mark in Birmingham city centre. I want Verve to sit in this area quite well, it's in a
01:09 great location. We've got a lot of decent bars around us, I just want it to, I want
01:15 to offer something different than the other bars. I want it to be a bit more of a higher
01:19 end clientele. It's not about how many people you get in here, it's about who you get in
01:26 here. And then just adding some life into the surrounding areas.
01:33 This opening comes during a turbulent period for nightlife in general. While this may not
01:39 be immediately noticeable to anyone walking along Broad Street on a Friday night, the
01:43 cost of living crisis has hit hospitality hard.
01:47 Yeah, I mean for venues I think it's important to get the people in, but it's about offering
01:54 something back to the people. For example, drink deals, that's what we'll be offering
01:59 throughout the week. I think that plays an important factor after Covid as well, and
02:06 the cost of living crisis as well, it's important because people that have the disposable income
02:11 to spend. So whatever help we can give back to the economy and as well please the people
02:17 I think that's a great thing.
02:19 The economic climate is not the only climate venues must take into account of course. In
02:24 this weather we all appreciate the indoors, but as the months roll on and we hit those
02:29 balmy summer nights, we all appreciate the opportunity to embrace the warm air.
02:36 Some of them are going to have the terrace built upstairs, and then from there we want
02:40 to create a bit of a more exclusive vibe upstairs because we've got a secret room. So we want
02:47 to make that into something, maybe offer a different kind of concept. Yeah, we're really
02:53 hoping to see everyone get involved, get here, it'll be good to see some faces and experience
02:59 some of the great service and cocktails we have.
