00:00 Blood stocks in Romania have hit new highs thanks to a huge increase in the value of meal vouchers given to donors.
00:09 In January it went from the equivalent of around 13 euros per ticket to 56 euros.
00:15 Donation centres are now constantly full with people sometimes queuing for hours to give blood.
00:20 When I started programming I had no more room and when I came to the other programs last year it was quite free.
00:27 I don't get motivated, I donated and I still do. I've been donating for 20 years and I've donated when I could only give 60-70 lei.
00:37 I usually come to donate regularly without knowing about the voucher. Today I'm happy that it's full, full of people.
00:45 Compared to shortages in previous years, Romania now says its blood banks are full after just the first three months of the year.
00:54 The country has 42 donation sites and the health ministry is considering reducing that number to help it cope with the surge in donors.
