00:00Pope Francis arrived to the French island of Corsica on Sunday for a day trip of roughly
00:07nine hours, making it one of his shortest visits beyond Italy's borders as well as
00:12the first papal visit to the island.
00:17The Pope reflected on local religious traditions but also focused on regional crisis, including
00:22migrant deaths and wars.
00:25In his address, the pontiff focused on having devotion and the importance of showing religious
00:30as well as social and political engagement.
00:34He also warned against levels of spirituality that fuel division and exclusivist attitudes.
00:41The Pope will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron later on Sunday.
00:46It follows after the pontiff did not make a trip to Paris earlier this month for the
00:50reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral.
00:54The Pope's visit to Corsica seems more suited to his priorities as he is adamant on visiting
