Transcript
00:00 Super Bowl, you guys played in plenty.
00:02 Give me a Super Bowl routine that you had to do prior to the game.
00:07 I did the sleep tank, these saltwater pods.
00:10 Yep.
00:10 And I would go in there like three times a week.
00:12 And we'd always find in all the Super Bowl cities, we'd find like a place that had them.
00:16 Every game for me was like a, it wasn't a Super Bowl, but it was, but it was, I still went in with the same level of preparation with the same mindset that
00:27 I'm going to try to go out here and prove something.
00:30 Like there was always something to prove.
00:31 I had the same routines every game.
00:33 So it wasn't, I didn't care about the magnitude of this moment.
00:36 The only difference was, is more people get to see you do your thing.
00:39 That's how I approached it.
00:41 The more people get to see you do your thing, man.
00:43 And so I didn't really change how I approached the game.
00:47 The first one, I got stuck on the last bus and we were going to the game and we got stopped.
00:53 We got stopped because the vice president decided to come to the game.
00:57 So we're sitting there looking at our watches going, Hey, we're supposed to be on the field here in about 20 minutes.
01:02 And I never got on that bus again.
01:06 So then I get up in the morning, go to a training table, and then I go straight to the stadium.
01:12 I didn't care how long the game was.
01:14 We never had offensive meetings on the day of the game.
01:17 So I just slip out of there and take a, take a taxi to the stadium.
01:21 And then, so I was there early.
01:23 We always put the first 15 plays in the night before the game.
01:27 I knew exactly the opportunities I was going to have during the game.
01:30 I'm up all night long playing the game in my head already.
01:33 Okay.
01:34 I get up the next day.
01:35 I can't eat breakfast because I'm nervous.
01:37 If I, if I eat something, I'm probably going to throw it up.
01:40 Yeah.
01:40 10 o'clock.
01:41 We have a meeting.
01:42 First bus goes at 1.30.
01:43 Go to the stadium, put my uniform on.
01:46 Yeah.
01:46 Uh, decide to relax on this table a little bit.
01:48 Fell asleep.
01:49 My teammates walking by and they said, what's up with Jerry?
01:52 This is a Super Bowl.
01:53 He's asleep.
01:54 But what I was saying is I already had put the work in.
01:58 I knew exactly how the game was going to go down.
02:03 I had played it already.
02:05 And, uh, I went out there and, uh, and guess who was the most valuable player.
