00:00 So Paul, tell me how business has been at Casemates?
00:03 Yeah, business has always been very good for us. We've been very lucky that we've had a very strong base of customers that have used us again and again.
00:11 And they've always helped the business grow and we've grown to keep up with the demands of those bands.
00:17 Which is why we've decided to go into a new area for bands to use here at Casemates.
00:22 So tell me a little bit about the new studio.
00:25 So, like I said, recordings are something we've never done before. It's something I've always wanted to do, but I've just had to wait for the right time for the right people to get involved.
00:33 I'm not a studio engineer myself, so I needed to find the right people to collaborate with to get it off the ground.
00:40 And I know you've said that you've always wanted to do it, but what was the real need?
00:47 We've always wanted Casemates to be a community hub for music and allow bands of any part of their career to have a place to rehearse and to record.
00:57 And to help grow the music scene in Portsmouth and give bands an opportunity to do something that they might not always be able to do.
01:04 Due to cost reasons or the availability of what else is available in the city to help them in their career.
01:11 And do you believe the recording studio will now help these people?
01:15 Yeah, definitely. Yeah, we've got a lot of young bands that come in and they're all learning kind of how this all works, not only on recording,
01:23 but we kind of give them advice of how to gig and where to gig and how to grow their fan base.
01:28 And it's just we just want to kind of get all the bits of the puzzles together to help encourage new talent.
01:33 to see.
