Transcript
00:00 Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday January the 3rd.
00:05 Bringing you some of our headlines this morning.
00:08 Following Storm Henk, which battered most parts of the UK yesterday,
00:14 in Doncaster we've got five flood warnings and four flood alerts in place after we had some torrential rains.
00:23 Thankfully it's not looking so bad this morning, but there are some places for you to avoid.
00:29 So if you want to read up on that, especially if you're planning on going out and about today.
00:35 Then we've also got a piece that the police sent out.
00:39 They are appealing for witnesses.
00:41 They believe that some witnesses haven't come forward following a really nasty collision on Christmas Day
00:49 when a woman in her 50s received critical conditions after she was hit by a car.
00:54 Three people have been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
01:00 But they're asking for people to come forward, people with dash cam footage, anything at all which can help
01:07 put together the circumstances of that accident.
01:10 The woman still remains in hospital unfortunately, but we'll try and keep you updated on that as and when we can.
01:17 And then thirdly, after the really sad tale just after Christmas, the death of Mason Williamson,
01:25 the little boy who needed some vital heart surgery, a heart transplant.
01:31 He passed away just after Christmas, but his family and friends are rallying round in his honour
01:37 and they're planning a superhero funeral.
01:40 Send off I'm sure will be very, very nice, but very, very sad at the same time.
01:47 So you can read all about that this morning too.
01:50 So for those three stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster today,
01:54 just visit the website www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and have a great Wednesday.
