01:15 Fightful Select has updated us on the status of three WWE wrestlers - Omos, Dexter Lumis

01:21 and Odyssey Jones.

01:23 Lumis returned to WWE on 8th August 2022 as one of the first signings under Triple H's

01:29 new regime, but he hasn't worked in-ring for the company - not on Raw, NXT, main event,

01:34 not even on live events - since beating Akira Tozawa on the 29th May.

01:39 That means he hasn't been booked on any programming for almost half a year.

01:44 Fightful writes that even though Lumis isn't injured, he hasn't been booked on any of

01:48 WWE's house show dates.

01:50 He's reportedly ready to work however he's needed, but as of right now, it's that old,

01:55 dreaded line.

01:56 WWE creative has nothing for him.

01:59 It's the same with Omos, who hasn't been seen on WWE TV since the Battle Royal on Summerslam

02:05 four months ago.

02:06 Unlike Lumis, however, Omos has still been wrestling on WWE's touring dates, beating

02:11 Akira Tozawa every other night.

02:16 According to Fightful, this is because WWE want to use Omos as a special attraction on

02:21 TV, like his last notable feud against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 39.

02:25 That's a thing that happened.

02:27 That was a thing that happened this year.

02:29 But as of right now, there are few, if any, creative pitches heading his way.

02:34 The final wrestler in Fightful's report was supposed Raw star Odyssey Jones.

02:39 Despite not having a single main roster televised appearance this year, and wrestling dark matches

02:44 on SmackDown shows since the Summer, Jones was drafted to Monday Night Raw back in May.

02:50 He's similarly been lingering on a few live event matches here and there, probably against

02:54 Akira Tozawa, but there has been at least one creative pitch made for him backstage.

02:59 To join the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley's Not The Hurt Business faction.

03:03 This hasn't got past the pitch stage, though.

03:05 In more There's No News news, Fight fans have an update

03:09 on Mandy Rose's potential return to WWE.

03:12 It's currently not happening, but in an interesting note, both sides might be open

03:17 to it.

03:18 Rose was shockingly booked to lose her NXT Women's Championship and then released by

03:22 WWE in December 2022, because she was posting "saucy content" on her Fantime page.

03:29 Or so I'm told.

03:33 However Fight fans report an in-ring return is something WWE would certainly come to the

03:38 table to talk about.

03:39 They're not against it if it suits both parties.

03:42 Triple H and Shawn Michaels still think very highly of her, so there is nothing on a personal

03:47 level from the company's side stopping a return.

03:50 The hold-up might actually be on Mandy's side.

03:53 As she's said in interviews, she has no urge to return to the ring, and she's making

03:58 loads of MONEY with her Fantime page - a page she'd have to shut down if she returned

04:04 to WWE.

04:05 Instead of focusing their efforts on Rose, Lumis, Omos or Odyssey Jones, WWE seem to

04:10 have another high-profile target in mind - as the chances they could sign the biggest wrestling

04:16 name outside of North America just buried.

04:19 Damn it, I meant bloomed.

04:21 That joke will make sense in about a minute.

04:23 Sports Illustrated have reported that Kazuchika Okada's New Japan contract is set to expire

04:28 at the end of January, where both AEW and WWE are expected to try to sign him.

04:34 According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that's why WWE started pushing Okada's

04:38 old mentor Shinsuke Nakamura again, as the two remain close, in an effort to show Okada

04:44 that Japanese wrestlers are treated much better by the new Triple H regime than they were

04:49 under Vince McMahon - where Vince McMahon booked Jinder Mahal to make racist jokes at

04:53 Nakamura in 2017.

04:55 WWE in 2023 is a much better place for Japanese wrestling talent to get exposed, like Akira

05:01 Tozawa losing to everyone on live shows.

05:04 Fight Fight fans reporting Okada was not on WWE's radar for the immediate future,

05:08 Super J-Cast have posted.

05:10 It appears that the Bloom may be off the roads for Okada and NJPW.

05:17 It just seems New Japan is struggling to re-sign Okada to another contract.

05:22 That's all that tweet has to say.

05:24 But just one more thing.

05:27 How about that capitalised B on the word Bloom?

05:31 'Boom' - the same name as the most notorious agent in professional wrestling.

05:36 Barry Bloom has represented talent like Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg in the

05:40 past, and more recently led talks to renegotiate Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page's

05:46 AEW contracts, along with Will Ospreay's move from New Japan to AEW too.

05:52 Super J-Cast are implying that Okada has enlisted Bloom's services for his own negotiations,

05:57 a heavy indicator that he will be leaving New Japan.

06:01 Sean Ross Sapp has added, "The Barry Bloom/Kazuchika Okada rumors are nowhere near official, however,

06:06 it wouldn't surprise me to see them come to fruition."

06:10 Where Okada goes next year will be significant not just because the promotion will get one

06:14 of the greatest wrestlers of the modern era, but because of the larger implications for

06:19 the global wrestling landscape.

06:21 If Okada goes to WWE, that's a huge step in Triple H changing the perception of how

06:27 his promotion treats foreign stars - something he's obviously passionate about, like as

06:32 you saw back down in NXT, or even on the main roster with how well Io Sky's SmackDown

06:36 Women's title reign has been booked.

06:38 Getting Okada would be the biggest advertising sign to non-US talent that WWE is a great

06:45 place to work.

06:46 But if Okada signs with AEW, I don't know how long New Japan will put up with their

06:52 Forbidden Door relationship, because that Forbidden Door just seems to be a way for

06:56 AEW to sneak in and steal their talent.

06:58 If Okada goes, that would make three of New Japan's biggest stars jumping ship to AEW

07:04 in a year period - Okada, Ospreay and Jey White.

07:09 The original sin of AEW was actually taking a lot of major talent from New Japan too,

07:14 with the Elite all leaving at the same time - a move that so offended New Japan management,

07:19 they wouldn't work with them for the first few years.

07:23 Over in AEW, there's been a major health scare for one of their top stars, Kenny Omega.

07:28 On Friday 15th December, Omega posted a picture of him in a hospital bed, saying he's out

07:33 indefinitely, and he was lucky doctors caught me when they did.

07:37 Dave Meltzer provided more details on Wrestling Observer Radio, revealing Omega has diverticulitis,

07:42 a potentially very serious disease of the digestive tract - the same condition that

07:47 threatened Brock Lesnar's life in 2009.

07:50 Which makes me feel pretty bad for joking about how bad Kenny's promo segment was

07:54 on Wednesday's Dynamite.

07:55 Omega apparently had bad bloating and pain, which he thought was a hernia.

07:59 That's why he kept training, and even wrestled Ethan Page on the 9th December episode of

08:04 Collision.

08:05 It was so bad, by the time he did the promo with Jericho on Dynamite, he went to the hospital

08:10 where they diagnosed diverticulitis.

08:12 If he had not gone in for another day or so, it could have been horrendous.

08:16 It was a very, very serious situation by the time he got to the hospital.

08:21 Look, I know nobody wants to be in Jericho's storylines right now, but this is getting

08:24 out of hand.

08:25 Omega had just announced he and Jericho would be challenging Ricky Starks and Big Bill for

08:29 the AEW Tag Team Championships at World's End.

08:33 That's obviously no longer happening.

08:35 Apparently he thought he would only be in a backstage capacity at Dynamite, but ended

08:39 up in the live in-ring promo with Jericho, even though he wasn't feeling his best,

08:43 he pressed on.

08:44 There was no timetable for his return to AEW, and, as a result, Omega has been removed

08:50 from any immediate creative plans.

08:52 His tag title match at the pay-per-view, and being pulled from a tentative match on this

08:56 week's Dynamite.

08:58 But don't worry, AEW have already got a back-up match in the works for World's End…

09:03 Tony Khan vs Disco Inferno!

09:07 Former WCW star Disco Inferno is a consistently vocally negative voice on AEW.

09:13 Back on the 17th December, when he replied to Tony Khan's innocent tweet asking how

09:18 AEW fans were.

09:20 Like the shows need a reset.

09:22 Which Tony Khan seems to have read, and presumably decided Disco Inferno is an apt name.

09:28 Because then he sent him to the Burns Unit, replying, "The belief that you're an irrelevant

09:32 parasite unites the entire pro wrestling community.

09:37 #AEWCollision."

09:38 I love how he still uses the #AEWCollision hashtag.
