00:00 Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Thursday, November the 23rd.
00:04 Just bringing you some headlines today.
00:06 First up we have a story about a transgender football player.
00:13 There's been some controversy regarding this particular player
00:18 and a number of Doncaster clubs have pulled out of the Sheffield Football League.
00:26 There was an incident where this transgender player was in collision with another
00:32 and that resulted in the other player receiving a broken knee
00:36 and that's what sparked all the controversy.
00:38 So you can read the whys and wherefores of that story online this morning.
00:42 We've got a couple of pieces from the police also.
00:44 They've sent out an e-fit of a man they're trying to trace
00:48 who was carrying out some lewd behaviour in Doncaster.
00:52 See if you can recognise him.
00:54 We've also got a piece about a shop worker who was punched in the face by a thief
01:02 while he was raiding a city-centred shop.
01:08 Then finally, a nice piece of news.
01:11 A Mexborough councillor has put his hand in his pocket
01:16 and is personally fronting the Christmas lights this year.
01:20 He's put forward £2,000 for the festive display which is lovely
01:24 and there's always a really good turnout for the Mexborough lights.
01:27 So you can read all about that this morning too.
01:30 So for those stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster
01:33 you know where to go. www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
