00:00 The first one is, two wins on the trot, has there been a notice in the change of spirit or has it always been the same even during the sticky patch results?
00:06 No different, which goes to show what a good group we've got.
00:10 I think that even when we went through that spell of not picking up many points,
00:16 the atmosphere was always good at the training ground and in and around the building,
00:19 simply because we knew that the performances were OK.
00:23 There were some of them games we were really good in.
00:26 We didn't get what we probably deserved in a lot of them games.
00:30 Whilst we were disappointed with the return of points,
00:35 we were still relatively pleased with performances.
00:38 We have to take
00:43 heed of the fact that
00:46 we had big players missing in some of them games as well.
00:50 Dion [Vardy] has been missing for a big chunk of it.
00:53 Gladwin [Vardy] was missing for a big chunk of it.
00:56 Campbell [Campbell] was missing for a big chunk of it.
00:58 So when you have players of that quality missing, it does make a difference, obviously.
01:03 But the atmosphere around the place has been brilliant,
01:08 really, from day one of pre-season until now.
01:11 Saturday's game against Atherton was one of the first times this season that the opposition has had more possession than Crawley.
01:17 I know you obviously take a big look at the games and watch them all back in detail.
01:21 Do you think there was a specific reason for that, just the way they set up, the way we set up?
01:24 Was there any specific reason?
01:26 Yes, there was.
01:28 The reason was because of the way they pressed us.
01:30 We found it hard to get into a rhythm
01:34 and we made
01:37 shorter passes and had good control in the first half.
01:42 If you look at probably the stats in the first half, our stats would have been higher than theirs.
01:48 And I felt that,
01:50 with what we said at half-time, probably made us go a little more direct,
01:53 which was actually needed.
01:55 So the fact that we made less passes in the second half was not a bad thing,
01:59 it was a good thing.
02:00 We had to play a little more direct.
02:02 If you look at, certainly, the penalty, it was a kind of a long ball from Gladwyn over the top.
02:07 Those sort of balls were needed.
02:09 We got a penalty from it.
02:11 If you remember, Clydie Lowless going over the top from a direct ball from Luka,
02:17 when he could have chipped the keeper from the edge of the box.
02:19 If you remember the action, again from a direct piece of play.
02:24 I'm not a football snob.
02:26 I'm not somebody who wants to make three million passes to score a goal.
02:29 If we score a goal on one pass, then I'll take that.
02:33 And sometimes games are needed for that action.
02:36 And we felt that we played a little more direct because of that, but it was needed.
02:42 Looking ahead to Barrow, what threat will they pose to your side?
02:46 Well, obviously, they've got Dom Telford.
02:48 He's a threat.
02:49 We know Dom really well.
02:50 He's a threat and always will be.
02:53 They've got other players in the team who are an handful.
02:59 But defensively, they don't give up a lot.
03:02 They're really strong in terms of, and not just the defence,
03:07 the team in general have a real good shape about them out of possession.
03:11 You find it really hard to play through them, round them or over them.
03:15 They're really kind of a solid team.
03:19 And they wait until you make a mistake and then they pounce.
03:25 But they're a good side.
03:26 They're sixth in the league for a reason.
03:29 It's obviously a long way to go at the weekend.
03:31 Is there any way that you have to treat this trip differently?
03:33 Do you have to prepare anything differently?
03:35 Or is there any sort of rituals that you and the players have to have on these away trips?
03:39 Yes, we always train on the way up.
03:40 I think when it's a long one like this one,
03:42 we train kind of further closer to the destination as opposed to further south.
03:48 So we'll be training at Liverpool.
03:51 The Liverpool Football Club have given us a pitch for the day,
03:54 so we appreciate that.
03:55 So we'll be training there, preparing properly
03:59 and then on our way up to the hotel.
04:03 Finally, is there any updates on Raf and Dion's injuries and illnesses?
04:07 Yes, Raf's trained this week,
04:11 but only had two sessions.
04:13 So it might be maybe too soon for him to be involved in the squad.
04:18 Dion is just about to start doing some bike work,
04:26 kind of off-feet conditioning work,
04:29 which will probably be for the next two weeks.
04:34 But with earmarked Colchester as a return for Dion.
04:37 Thank you.
04:38 Clydie, thank you for joining us.
04:39 A long trip to Barrow this weekend.
04:41 Can I get your thoughts?
04:41 Is the lads prepared for that game?
04:43 Yes and no.
04:45 We've had a good week's training.
04:47 We've come in, we've worked hard as a group
04:50 off the back of a great win on Saturday.
04:52 So, yes, we're just looking to build on that.
04:54 Yes, how important do you think that victory on Saturday was?
04:57 I mean, we've spoken a lot with the gaffer.
04:59 It seems the performances were there,
05:00 but the results weren't necessarily going our way.
05:02 So it must be pleasing for the lads to get their reward after a tough few games.
05:06 Yes and no, definitely.
05:07 It's been a hard run recently.
05:11 I felt like we deserved to win a few games that we didn't.
05:15 So it ended up coming on Saturday,
05:18 which was good.
05:19 So we can build on that and get the momentum going.
05:23 Yes, we've had a few changes in and out of the team.
05:25 It seems to have settled down a little bit now, which is great.
05:28 The team's playing really well.
05:29 How have you been enjoying it in the last few weeks,
05:31 especially since you've been playing a big part in these games?
05:33 Yes, it's been good, man.
05:34 It's been good.
05:35 We've been working on our partnerships all across the field.
05:39 I feel like I'm in a positive way at the moment,
05:41 individually and as a team.
05:43 So long may that continue.
05:45 Yes, and especially with the front three, it seems to be really clicking.
05:48 Obviously, we've got Adam back now.
05:49 You're playing alongside him at the weekend and we scored a great goal that you were heavily a part of first.
05:54 How has it been playing with those, especially those two,
05:57 but also just the other players that have been filling in those positions?
05:59 Yes, it's been good, man.
06:02 Obviously, recently, especially I've been playing with Orsi more, so Adam just came back.
06:06 So, yes, the relationship has been building every game.
06:11 I mean, we are finding each other more.
06:13 Obviously, Orsi assisted me a couple of weeks back.
06:15 I assisted him on Saturday.
06:17 Hopefully, he gives me another one on Saturday.
06:19 Maybe I give him one back.
06:20 But, yes, we just need to carry on this way and keep on going.
06:25 Yes, and the morale around the camp seems to be really good.
06:27 I suppose that's really important, especially with some of the tough results that we've had to take.
06:31 How much of an impact does that have going into games at the weekend?
06:35 Yes, the morale is always important.
06:37 I feel like we're in a good way at the minute in the changing rooms.
06:39 I mean, everyone's been positive.
06:42 We're all trying to rectify what we've been doing over the past couple of weeks.
06:47 And, yes, it's coming along well.
06:49 Hopefully, we can bring it in to Saturday.
06:52 Yes, and it's a long trip.
06:53 Obviously, you'll head up tomorrow afternoon, or tomorrow morning, sorry, your train on the way.
06:57 Are these trips as a footballer that you dread, or do you thrive on it,
07:00 or just take it as another game having to go all that way?
07:02 No, we've got to thrive on it.
07:03 I mean, it's a tough fixture, definitely.
07:07 Certainly, they're a good defensive side.
07:10 We'll respect them, but we won't fear them.
07:12 Yes, so we'll just go out.
07:13 We'll have to go there and do a job on them and get the three points, bring them back.
07:17 I suppose for you, as you sort of touched on there, they're a good defensive team,
07:21 but we seem to be a really good attacking team.
07:22 We score lots of goals at the moment, and I suppose for a player like yourself,
07:25 that's the side that you want to be a part of, isn't it?
07:27 Yes, no, definitely, most definitely.
07:28 I mean, goals win games, but at the same time,
07:31 we've got to also work hard as a whole team, because it's not just the defence.
07:35 It starts from me and Orsi up top and Adam.
07:39 But yes, the clean sheets will start coming.
