00:00 The Hydrogen Valley, an ambitious project funded by the European Community through the funds of the PNRR for a total of 7.5 million euros.
00:15 The project aims to realize a hydrogen production plant in a retroportal area of Civita Vecchia, in the heart of Lazio.
00:23 When we talk about hydrogen, we are still talking about a technology that is not mainstream, but which is a technology that we are experimenting with, as much as what must be done in the field of energy transition change.
00:34 There is no magic solution, there is a set of experiments that must be done necessarily, because otherwise we will never be able to achieve decarbonization goals.
00:43 Now we no longer have the time factor, and therefore the measures to be taken must be identified with great precision, and above all with great precision in the timing.
00:51 We are trying to respect these timings and to put into practice experiments that are projects that have an economic and financial feasibility, because otherwise we will always remain in the petitions of principle.
01:04 The synergies with other projects and local partners represent the strength of this initiative.
01:10 In all this, the geographical and strategic position of Civita Vecchia in the center of the Mediterranean, as a link of traffic and communication routes, plays a fundamental role.
01:20 The territory of Civita Vecchia offers numerous opportunities for the use of hydrogen, from logistics to public transport to industry, and this project will satisfy the growing demand for green hydrogen, contributing to the reduction of emissions and to energy innovation in the region.
01:36 We are entering a little into the future, not only of this city, because this project allows Civita Vecchia to enter in full in a mechanism that concerns renewables and that constitute the future, both in terms of energy and environmental.
01:53 The municipality of Civita Vecchia, the administration and the city have agreed over the years to get out of the logic that has conditioned the city and the territory and to imagine a future where the environment is protected and above all where clean energy, energy through renewables, can find space and can find concreteness.
02:14 The Hydrogen Civita Vecchia project is inserted in a broader operational infrastructure context, contributing to the creation of the Hydrogen Valley of Civita Vecchia. This initiative is in line with the European and national directives that promote the use of hydrogen as a clean and sustainable energy vector.
02:32 We have other projects that will follow, we have two years from next month to realize this project, but we think that with two years we have to do it.
02:45 The Hydrogen Civita Vecchia project is in line with the European objectives of the production of renewable hydrogen by 2030 and with the decarbonization objectives and represents an important step towards the creation of a wide-scale hydrogen distribution network in the south-central Italy.
