00:00 days after open-heart surgery we got to bring him home which is amazing he's
00:03 doing great he's eating he's sleeping he peed on his mother today while she was
00:07 changing his diaper. He's doing all the things that he's supposed to do.
00:12 Jimmy Kimmel returned to his show after the birth of his son William and
00:16 revealed to his audiences the details of his newborn son's heart disease. So sad
00:21 watching this and seeing his pure emotion telling the story of how his son
00:26 has a heart condition and he discovered it through his nurse at the hospital. Her
00:31 name is Ninoosh was checking him out and heard a murmur in his heart which is
00:35 common with newborn babies but she also noticed he was a bit purple which is not
00:40 common so she asked me to come with her and I'm standing in the middle of a lot
00:44 of very worried looking people kind of like right now. And you can imagine not
00:49 getting any sleep going through that and then having to go in front of a live
00:52 audience and in front of millions of people during this period in your life.
00:55 Which is a dream in itself. So kudos to you Jimmy and thank you for sharing your
01:00 story and this powerful message. He also explained that his son William was taken
01:03 to Children's Hospital Los Angeles where a pediatric surgeon performed a three
01:07 hour open-heart surgery to open up the blocked valve in Williams hearts. But it
01:12 does end on a positive note less than a week later they were able to take Will
01:15 home to meet his older sister. Well here's a picture of my wife and me and
01:19 Billy and our daughter Jane and you can see Jane's pretty excited about having
01:23 another kid. And this story brings up an even bigger issue that a lot of
01:28 Americans are dealing with health care and the current debate going on in
01:32 Congress. President Trump last month proposed a six billion dollar cut in
01:36 funding to the National Institute of Health. They actually increased funding
01:39 by two billion dollars and I applaud them for doing that. Yes good on you Kimmel for using
01:45 your platform. Health care is bigger than politics. It's a human issue and if you
01:50 don't believe that everyone deserves the basics including proper health care then
01:55 get out of here. Go live on your own where all you care about is yourself and
02:00 not your fellow man. This isn't football there are no teams we are the team it's
02:04 the United States don't let their partisan squabbles divide us on
02:08 something every decent person wants. And as a result of his monologue many of his fans have been donating to the
02:14 Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. So were you moved by Kimmel's experience
02:18 and how has the health care issue impacted you? Let us know in the comments
02:21 below. For more stories go to whatstrending.com
