GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO — A video posted to Facebook shows a woman ranting about Hispanics.

“You, your kind. You’re the ones that give brown people bad names,” said the woman, who was later identified as Laura Bennett. “Just fucking want to get something for nothing. Well, get your ass a job if you don’t have one.”

At one point, a woman could be heard speaking Spanish, to which Bennett reacts by snapping her fingers and saying, “Speak English, bitch, it’s America” and “Down with Mexicans that don’t learn the language of the world.”

The video was posted on Facebook by Wendy Flores, who said her mother filmed it outside of the Mesa County Department of Human Services in Grand Junction, Colorado.

“This right here is what’s wrong with the world. People acting out of spite and hate towards a different race,” Flores wrote.

Bennett later said the incident began when she became outraged after seeing a dog left inside of a hot car.

Toward the end of the video, others with Bennett make remarks about the dog being taken away. At the same time, a boy is seeing crying to his mother, presumed to be the one filming, in Spanish begging her to stop.

Bennett said she doesn’t regret helping the animal but apologizes for the language she used.
