MISSION, TEXAS — A man is facing charges of animal cruelty after he was caught on camera dragging his German Shepherd down the sidewalk behind his motorized scooter.
A woman driving through the neighborhood captured video of the incident on her phone and posted it on Facebook, WTSP reported.
In the 10-second video, the woman can be heard saying, “I know where you live, don’t worry.”
The man, Mario Cardona, 59, replies, “You ain’t going to do nothing,” as he continues to ride down the sidewalk dragging the animal.
“Don’t worry, I’ll call the cops on you,” she says in the video.
“It’s my dog,” Cardona yells back at her.
Authorities say they received hundreds of calls from concerned citizens after watching the video on social media, according to WTSP.
Cardona has been arrested and animal control has taken away his dog, WTSP reported.
The dog’s name is G2, and she is currently at an animal shelter where she is doing fine.
