00:00Motorcyclists, farmers with tractors and war veterans provided security for a
00:06day-long demonstration organized by students in the multi-ethnic city of
00:11Sabotica, Serbia. The protests, which have been going on for six months, were
00:16sparked by the collapse of a bus station canopy in Novi Sad, killing 16 people.
00:21We want that people who are responsible for debts and for corruption to stand
00:26behind what they did and to be properly prosecuted.
00:33It's so great to see the energy of people, the uprooting, you know, like going
00:40from city to city and gathering support from different parts of society.
00:46Protesters are demonstrating against corruption in Serbia as well as the poor economic situation,
00:52calling for snap elections. They observe 16 minutes of silence in memory
00:57of the 16 victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad.
