00:00In the Vatican City, the inaugural Mass of recently elected Pope Leo XIV took place.
00:05More than 150 delegations were in attendance, including kings, heads of state and government,
00:11as well as ecumenical delegations and delegations of other religions.
00:16One hour before the Mass, Pope Leo XIV greeted the faithful by jeeping through the various sectors of St. Peter's Square.
00:23During the consecration, the leader of the Catholic Church received the symbols of papal power,
00:28as explained by the Office of Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff.
00:33The rite included several moments of great symbolic value,
00:37among which stand out the ancient Petrine Episcopal insignia, the Palium and the Fisherman's Spring.
00:44In his address, Pope Leo called for a new world where peace is the norm.
