00:00Was ist die Rock Club der Frog & Toad, in Bradford, near the Ice Rink,
00:18which is not there now, it's a road, it's been a road for a long time.
00:22That was, I think we didn't have enough songs, so we played one song twice,
00:27which was our cover version anyway.
00:30And it was basically me insulting people in the crowd who I knew
00:34and then insulting me back, so it just turned into a heckling.
00:38There was about four songs and half an hour of heckling,
00:42which I actually quite enjoyed, actually.
00:46And it was, yeah, I mean, it was good fun, and it was like that for quite a while.
00:50It was most of the shows we did initially were just me heckling people in the audience,
00:54me heckling them, then heckling me back.
00:56So it was just like, yeah, and then a few songs in between.
00:58But then, yeah, we started getting a bit more serious and actually wrote more songs
01:02so we could do a longer set, so yeah, it worked out eventually.
01:06Our first show was kind of disastrous, but kind of fun, chaotic.
01:16We only had very few songs, maybe three or four songs,
01:21so we just played all the songs we had twice to try and fill up the time that we had.
01:26And it was in the Frog and Toad, which was the kind of club that we used to frequent.
01:32We got paid in cans of red-striped beer, I seem to remember.
01:37I think we got about three cans each, which was a pretty good haul back then.
01:43Yeah, it was fairly chaotic, and I remember Nick being very humorous, actually.
01:48But we kind of hadn't found our footing really then.
01:51But we loved it.
01:52I mean, it was like, it was just a great feeling.
01:57And I remember my dad drove us to it, because none of us drove at the time.
02:01So he hired a van and drove us to it.
02:06And after the show, we were, like, drinking beers at the bar,
02:10like, lapping up the attention.
02:12And someone said, isn't that your dad, Greg?
02:15And I looked around, and my dad was on the stage,
02:17kind of shielding his eyes, because he couldn't see through the light,
02:20asking if anyone had seen his son, because he had to load the van up,
02:24which was kind of embarrassing.
02:26But it's a good memory, I guess.
02:31For the fire burns deep within mistrust
02:38For the ghosts, the ones...
