India Unveils Bhargavastra: Indigenous Anti-Drone Swarm Weapon
Transcript
00:00That is India's next step forward in counter drone defense technology, the successful testing
00:13of a new system called Bhargavastra. Developed in India by the Economics Explosive Limited,
00:18a subsidiary of the Solar Group, Bhargavastra is designed to neutralize multiple incoming drones,
00:23especially swarms, using guided and unguided micro rockets. The system has a strike range
00:29of up to 2.5 kilometers and a radar that can detect threats from as far as 6 kilometers away.
00:34In a recent field trial, the system demonstrated precise targeting in both single and multi launch
00:40modes, meeting all performance parameters. What sets Bhargavastra apart is how it can be adapted
00:45to any Indian condition. It's built to withstand scorching deserts and high altitude terrain up to
00:505000 meters. The name likely draws inspiration from an ancient weapon mentioned in the Mahabharata war.
00:56Bhargavastra functions as a multi-layered anti-swarm drone platform. Its command and control center
01:02provides real-time situational awareness and can integrate with India's broader defense network.
01:08To identify threats, it uses radar waves along with light and radiation detection equipment.
01:14Once a swarm is detected, the first line of attack kicks in. Unguided micro rockets with a 20 meter
01:19blast radius designed to take out multiple drones in one go. Then comes the second layer. Guided rockets
01:26this time that hunt down any remaining targets with pinpoint precision. Bhargavastra's trial comes
01:32soon after the Indian military demonstrated its air defense strength with the S-400 and the indigenous
01:37Akash systems, both battle-tested during Operation Sindur. Now, Bhargavastra is poised to join this layered
01:43shield. Fast, adaptable and deadly, it could well become India's last line of defense in the age of drone warfare.
01:50It's worth it.
