Gates of Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Project Dam remain closed amid Ind-Pak conflict

Ramban (J&K), May 16, 2025 (ANI): All the gates of Baglihar Dam, which is built on Chenab river, was closed for fourth consecutive day in Ramban on May 16. The gates of the Baglihar dam were opened on May 8 following the heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, which could have caused flooding. Despite reaching out to an agreement of cessation of hostilities, the Indian government maintains its stance on the Indus Water Treaty which is still in abeyance. The treaty was suspended following the Pahalgam terror attack.
