00:30On April 23, 2025, Shaw, a resident of Hooghly, West Bengal, had accidentally crossed into Pakistan
00:36around 11.50am while on Kisanagaar duty near the Jaloke border outpost in Punjab's Firozpur
00:41district.
00:42Shaw was quickly detained by Pakistan rangers and taken into custody for questioning.
00:46Political leaders across parties also expressed their happiness and congratulated the government
00:50for securing Shaw's release.
00:52BJP State President Sukhanta Majumdar called it a victory of India's resolve, diplomacy,
00:57and pride.
00:58His return was made possible through consistent efforts and regular flag meetings between the
01:01BSF and Pakistan rangers following established protocols.
01:06Following his return, Shaw will undergo a full medical examination, counselling, and a formal
01:10debriefing by BSF officials to review the circumstances of his detention and ensure his well-being.
