00:00JNU as a top university of this country, completely funded by the Indian taxpayer and the government of India.
00:07I think it is our response. We have 98 MOUs with different countries.
00:12JNU teaches Turkish as a language in the School of Languages, Literature and Culture.
00:19And we have an Indian professor who does it.
00:21We should not have any relations with a country that supports terror and that stabs India on the back.
00:28It is very important that as in this hour of crisis, the university and the academia and intellectuals have to stand with the Indian armed forces.
00:38There is absolutely involvement by Pakistan. There is no doubt about it.
00:42India has been the longest victim of terror.
00:47And I think what they did that day was barbaric and must be condemned by every civilized country, wherever you come from.
00:58No religion preaches this type of religious exclusivist obscurantism.
01:06So it has to be condemned.
01:09And I am very happy that we also retaliated with restraint and after, at our choosing.
01:19So I think that is very important.
01:21The Operation Sindhur, many people said it is a misogynistic or something.
01:26They don't know the Indian civilization.
01:29We are a feminist civilization and Sindhur involves our auspicious civilization, dharmic values.
01:38Mother, goddess, whether you are male or female, people use that kungumam as we call kungum or whatever you call it.
01:46So I think first that has to be corrected.
01:48And number two, I congratulate the Indian army, the Indian scientists, because it is the first time a prime minister has shown political will.
02:01It is not that earlier we may not have had the technology, but the political will and the decisive decision making has to combine with your level.
02:14We had the capability, but I salute Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making this into a capability.
02:22And unless you show the world, the world will not accept that today the world is accepting that India has air power that is unmatched.
02:32And these are all made in India.
02:34So as an Indian, as a citizen, I am extremely proud that the armed forces, the scientific establishment, and the decision making unit of the Indian government,
02:47especially under the leadership of the present prime minister, came together.
02:51I think one important thing, this is a tectonic shift.
02:54Till now we wanted more international support.
02:57Here we did it and then we have gone to them with proof.
03:01So it is also very difficult.
03:03Today the Guardian also has changed its stance and supported us.
03:07So I think this is the right approach.
03:10We will have to safeguard our own national interest.
03:14And that is what the present, what to say, attack operation Sindhur has shown.
03:20We first attacked only terrorist camps.
03:24But when Pakistan attacked our civilians, our temples, and our military bases,
03:30then we showed to them what we can do.
03:34Every civilian citizen is as responsible for our national security.
03:40See, if our armed forces are fighting so valiantly, our prime minister is leading us with such great courage and decision making powers.
03:51Every citizen of this country has to do it.
03:55JNU, why?
03:56JNU is totally subsidized by the Indian taxpayer.
04:02If the Indian taxpayer does not subsidize us, then where should our loyalty lie?
04:09To the Indian state.
04:11Number two, the present chief of the armed staff and the naval staff, I am proud to say, are JNU alumni.
04:20And JNU salutes them.
04:22And JNU is always for the nation and for our armed forces.
04:26JNU as a top university of this country, completely funded by the Indian taxpayer and the government of India.
04:34I think it is our response.
04:36We have 98 MOUs with different countries.
04:39We have one signed MOU with one university, now U University, and one in the process.
04:46JNU teaches Turkish as a language in the School of Languages, Literature, and Culture.
04:53And we have an Indian professor who does it.
04:55And because of that, the administration thought that we should not have any relations with a country that supports terror
05:04and that stabs India on the back.
05:07And how can you have a relationship with somebody who is undermining India's national security?
05:13And as a citizen and as an academic, it is undermining my human security
05:18and the security of every citizen in the country.
05:22So I thought it is very important that in this hour of crisis,
05:27the university and the academia and intellectuals have to stand with the Indian Armed Forces,
05:32who are JNU alumni, and with one of the most courageous Prime Minister
05:37and the tallest spokesman of a democracy, to support him.
05:42So I salute the Armed Forces, scientists, and the Prime Minister.
