Mark Atkinson reports from Paisley as Hibs seal third place in the Premiership.
Transcript
00:00Full-time here at the Smyster Stadium where it has finished Sidner in two, Hibs two, and after a quite gripping match on a sun-kissed night in Paisley, Hibs are confirmed as third-place finishers in the William Hill Scottish Premiership due to Aberdeen's 5-1 defeat by Celtic, but they're four points clear with one game remaining, and that means the David Gray's Hibs team cannot be called.
00:27What a remarkable achievement for the Easter Road Club, who at one point were sitting bottom of the table and with their head coach under intense pressure, but since the end of November when Rocky Bushidi scored a late equaliser against Aberdeen, Hibs have marched up the table, a green and white high-speed juggernaut that has pretty much knocked every team off its path at some point, except a 17-game unbeaten run.
00:53Helping that along the way. As you can hear here, Sidner and fans are quoting Smyster Robinson, he came on. More about him and his team in a little while, but as for Hibs,
01:04it's been a remarkable run by them, and they thoroughly deserve to finish in third, and they'll be cheering on Celtic in the Scottish Cup final. Should Celtic beat Aberdeen, Hibs will get guaranteed conference lead football at the very, very least.
01:18In this game, they were 2-0 up. After 10 minutes, Martin Boyle and Lukály Pijárovic scored to have them on cruise control, but Sidnerin, who are a great winner for themselves, under Steven Robinson,
01:27they came back and leveled 2-2 the goal right on halftime for Richard Taylor, and then through Colin Menoun. Frantic end for the match, they pushed for a winner, Sidnerin.
01:37In the end, they have to settle for a point. They're the only team that Hibs haven't beaten this season. It does mean that they still have a slight chance of European football when they go to Celtic Park on Saturday.
01:46They're a point behind fifth place, Dundee United. Wouldn't put it past them and risk on to pull off a remarkable achievement. Their players are taking a laugh of honour right now in front of their fans.
01:56Their last committee of the season. In the end, this game and this night belong to Hibs. They are third place confirmed after a great 2-2 draw here in Renfrewshire.
