00:00We've just seen Donald Trump addressing a huge crowd in Riyadh.
00:04We also heard from the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
00:10What exactly is the significance of the memorandums and agreements
00:16that were signed today between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia?
00:22Absolutely. Well, from the perspective of the United States, I can tell you it shows
00:26the affection and the respect and the importance that President Trump sees
00:31in his relationship and in the United States' relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
00:36and our partnership and what it means throughout the region.
00:39You know, as you have just mentioned, President Trump in both his first term
00:43and now his second term has selected Saudi Arabia to be his first foreign state visit.
00:49It's hard to understate the significance of that.
00:52You know, many of President Trump's predecessors have chosen more traditional Western nations.
00:59Their first visit has often been to Canada or to the United Kingdom.
01:04President Trump on both occasions in both of his presidencies has chosen to mark his first visit
01:09to Saudi Arabia.
01:10And it is certainly a departure from President Trump's predecessor, President Biden.
01:15You may remember President Biden said that his goal was to make the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia a pariah.
01:21And, you know, you think back to comments like that, how horrible it was to hear a U.S. president
01:26speak that way of such a longstanding, valuable partner and ally to the United States.
