00:00I'm just talking about relations there. What's the relationship like between President Donald Trump and Saudi Arabia?
00:07And why has he chosen this as his first official foreign trip? He's called it historic.
00:17Yeah, well, I think Donald Trump feels very comfortable with the Saudi royal family in particular.
00:25There is the public aspect to this, the government to government aspect to this.
00:29But there's also a private and family aspect to this.
00:32As we know, the Trump family is heavily involved in making deals in Saudi Arabia, in UAE and in Qatar, all of which form some of the background to this trip.
00:45And again, part of the way to understand the Trump administration is that it is in many respects sort of a reality television show.
00:54And he likes the optics of being in the Middle East.
00:57He has a sort of cartoonish view, quite frankly, of Saudi wealth.
01:02And this plays into a popular perception in the United States.
01:05And again, going to the Middle East, walking on red carpets, seeming to be surrounded by opulence.
01:13He is projecting to the American people that he is generating all of this money, all of this investment in the United States.
01:20And that is a very good look for him.
