During a press briefing on Monday, President Trump was asked who in his administration would lead budget negotiations while he visits the Middle East.
Transcript
00:00The budget bill negotiations are taking place.
00:06Who in your administration is in charge of that while you're gone?
00:08Everybody. Bobby, from the standpoint of medical, this group behind me, I mean, I think it's the best group ever assembled.
00:15In terms of medical, I think you're going to see a tremendous cut, I don't think, I mean, I know you're going to see it, in Medicaid and Medicare.
00:24That cut will be massive because drugs are 50, 60 percent of the cost.
00:28So Medicaid costs are going down and Medicare costs are going down because of what we're doing today.
00:35And there's no, it's not like, oh, gee, well, maybe it won't happen.
00:38It's going to happen because the other countries have no choice.
00:41Now, the drug companies are going to have to say, listen, if you don't pay more, we're not going to give you the drug.
00:45And they're willing to do that. So that's it.
