01:29Good morning, and thank you for this wonderful reception.
01:36They say when they clap at the beginning, it doesn't matter much.
01:41If you're still awake at the end and you still want to applaud, thank you very much.
02:15The church at this moment, in this moment of grace.
02:19Jesus has proclaimed, Beati are the operators of peace.
02:23This is an attitude which challenges us all, and it calls each and everyone to communicate in different ways.
02:43And not to be aggressive, to be consensual, not to be competitive, and also to separate truth from love.
03:02This begins with each of us, as we look at others, as we listen to others.
03:10And in this sense, the way in which we communicate is absolutely sexual.
03:20We have to say no to the war of words, the war of images, and we have to repel the paradigm of war.
03:31Allow me, therefore, to stress again today the solidarity of the church with journalists who are in prison, who are trying to tell the truth.
03:46And with those words, I should also like to urge the liberation of those imprisoned journalists.
04:11The church recognizes in those witnesses telling us about the war at the cost of their own lives,
04:30about the courage of those who defend justice and the rights of people who wish to be informed because only informed people can make free opinions.
04:49Thank you, friends, for your service to truth.
05:19You have been in Rome in these weeks, telling the story of the church, its diversity, and its unity.
05:37You have accompanied the rights of Holy Week, and then you have told us about the mourning period, the pain which we suffered at the death of Pope Francis.
05:50And that happened, though, in the light of Easter, and this Easter festival has introduced us to the spirit of the concrete,
06:05which has been a very laborious and tiring experience.
06:12But afterwards we have been able to tell the story of the grace of God which unites us all and which needs a shepherd.
06:25We are living through very difficult lives, times, which represents a challenge to all of us.
06:39One which we cannot shirk.
06:41On the contrary, these challenges require services and rules from us, which require that we must always avoid mediocrity.
06:54The church must meet the challenge of modernity, and it cannot depend on a journalism which is outside of time.
07:08As Saint Paul Gustin said, we shall see, and the times will be good. We are the times.
07:16Thank you, therefore, for what you have done, for avoiding the stereotypes and common places which we are often subject to in the life of the church.
07:39Thank you for having tried to seize the essence of what we are and transmitting it through every means possible throughout the world.
07:50Today we are faced with a very, very important challenge, which is to try and get out of the tower of labels of communication,
08:02in which we find ourselves locked into a language without love, very often just trivial or without any logic.
08:14Therefore, your service with the words you use, style you use is very important.
08:22Communication is not just broadcasting information, but the creation of a culture, a culture of digital and human communication.
08:34which is incredibly important in our space, particularly with regard to technological advances.
08:42This message becomes more and more essential, more and more important, and it has immense potential,
08:50which requires, however, responsibility and discernment.
08:56So it is an instrument for the good of everyone, so that it can actually profit the whole of humanity.
09:04And this responsibility is one which we all bear.
09:10Dear friends, we shall learn the times to know each other better.
09:16We have experienced, I think, together very special days.
09:24And you have shared with every means of communication, the television, radio, web, social networks, and so on.
09:32And I should just like that all of us to say that you have managed to awaken a little bit of the love and peace which we represent.
09:46I repeat to you today something which Pope Francis said on the day of communication,
10:00we must relieve communication from all means of communication from all kinds of aggressivity and illogicality.
10:10We don't want a muscular type of communication, but one which is capable of listening to people, which welcomes the voice of the weak who have no voice.
10:23Let us use words and continue to disarm the world.
10:39This communication will allow us to have a different look at the world and to affirm once again our human dignity.
10:52You are in the front line in terms of narrating peace and justice and poverty.
11:04And so I wish you awareness and courage on this path to the communication of peace.
11:17Thank you to all. God bless you all.
11:41Dominus Vobiscus,
11:43the Lord be with you.
11:44Sit nomen Domini Benedictum,
11:49adiatorium nostrum in nomine Domini,
11:55benedicat vos Omnipotens Deus,
11:58Pater et Filius et Spiritus Sanctus.
12:03Amen.
