“No need to fear...” Chandigarh SSP urges public to avoid rumours, confirms city situation normal

Chandigarh May 09, 2025 (ANI): Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur urged residents not to believe social media rumours, assuring that the situation in the city is normal and all markets are open. She confirmed alerts were received last night and at 9 am today, during which sirens were sounded and the public cooperated well with blackout procedures. She advised citizens to follow official social media channels for accurate updates and to carefully read the administration's issued guidelines.SSP Chandigarh Kanwardeep Kaur said, "I appeal to the people of Chandigarh not to trust any rumours circulating on social media. For correct information, follow the social media handles of Chandigarh Administration and Police. The situation in Chandigarh is normal. All markets are open. There is no need to fear...We received an alert last night and today, around 9 am, in both situations, the siren was sounded. The public has also cooperated very well in the blackout. We appeal to people to read and understand the guidelines properly issued by the administration..."
